It's really amazing how bad the sports ownership in this world class city has been: either incompetent (Wrigley, Tribune, McCaskeys after Halas) or not caring about wins, only profits (Reinsdorf, Wirtz).
I guess Rocky is the best of them - so far - Reinsdorf far behind in second place. - StLBravesFan
The thing about Reinsdorf, I can't stand that he got public(my) money to build his new stadium, and them he has the nerve to charge people to enter into their stadium. At least Rickets is using his own cash, he should just screw the rooftop owners. Without Wrigley there they would have nothing. |

I'm going to go with Eric Nesterenko, although I haven't seen him play the last few games. Does anyone know if he's injured? - Canardhawk
Yeah both he and Chico Maki are hurt. Looks like Bobby Hull will need some new line mates. Looks like he'll be back working with Phil Esposito again though. Possibly Kenny Wharram working the other wing. |

Just like someone saying that they want the Blackhawks to blast one off of Backes foot? Bad karma?
I wasn't stating that they should do anything dirty to Toews. Just pointing out that it will likely go both ways. Both teams are likely going to target guys coming back from injury to try and limit their play. A clean check on Toews to see how his shoulder really is, no different than someone shooting at Backes foot if he is in a shooting lane.
I am not trying to start stuff. - carcus
both are great players, Backes happens to be one of those guys who fall into the hate category until they somehow wind up on your team, then it's all good same as if Toews ever found his way down to St Louie.
should be a fun series! as far as Bickell goes, I think he won't get the respect he got for some reason last year in the playoffs. someone will take it a step farther and challenge him especially after it got around the league that he got his ass pounded by Jarred Boll. although unpopular with some, Morin, Smith, Regin & Bollig all play before Handzus and if he gets lazy, Bickell.
looking forward to "after the Parade" the only move I would like to see the Hawks make this summer is a hockey trade by getting Ryan Kesler into a Hawk jersey. (we need a happy Kane coming into contract talks!)a new way of thinking by a new GM in Vancouver plus a couple of our young assets could get it done, otherwise , stand pat minus the expiring contracts. can't wait to see Morin & Smith for a full season plus a vet back up goalie not 40 years old. TT & Rantta need a FULL season playing alot in Rockford!!...... Let's go Hawks! |

Yeah. He'll chirp and we will have to clean up the mess. Typical kid. I am ready though. I hope I survive though. I think my clean sheet may take a hit. |

Probably a widely held, almost universal attitude. The day the the news of his death was announced, I immediately became imbued with enthusiasm about what might happen for the franchise. I'd look at standings and box scores during the late Zhamnov et al era, but that was about it. - Tugboat
I really learned a lot about other teams during the dark years. That was all you could do if you wanted to see good hockey and good players. I was all about who the hawks could trade for |

And then Pulford would trade for some guy you never heard of. (frank) him too. |

Zhamnov? What a bum that guy was. He showed up for about 30 games a year. - Elbows15
He could play, 20 G a year kind of guy, but hugely disappointing after that big contract (for the time), when was it? '96? He was projected to be a superstar and it didn't happen. He was certainly no Federov...

He had a world of talent Tug. He only showed up to play in 30 games a year. The rest he floated around the ice. He had no heart. |

If Patrice Bergeron was the Hawks 2C, they would be immediately join "greatest NHL teams ever" type discussions. If wishes were horses....

He sucks. He is not a big game player at all. In the biggest game of his life, he was a no show. He was absolutely pathetic in the game between the US and Canada in this Olympics. To me, he looked afraid of the moment. |
