I heard this on the Score this afternoon. I won't be surprised if Q goes with this into game 1. - EKolb13
I never got why line combinations are discussed so much. You just know Q is going to break this out anyway, probably before the end of the 2nd period of game 1.

I barely was able to save some clothes. My basement had 8 feet of water. In 30 minutes the water was thigh high in the street. |

Cause it's a freakin' hockey board. Board can't be called hockey if there is not line combos discussions.

Yes, but it is more up then down lately. Anyways just don't want to think about negative stuff. It is more like "what line combos will we win with?" for me.
P.S.: not a big deal but IIRC Wings did not dominate game 1. - Uncheckable21

The Blues possess the puck when they are hitting, causing turnovers, etc. Chicago with their skill possess the puck and just keep the other team from having it in the first place. Not as much of a need to be as physical when you have the puck and the other team can't catch you/take it away.
The Blues need to pressure and turn over the other team in order to possess it more. That is why historically the Hawks have had the Blues number recently, they do a better job than most at avoiding our forecheck and holding on to the puck. - carcus
This is a key to the series, I think. The Hawks need to play fast and transition out of their zone quickly; if they do they'll have some success, if not the Blues will. |

It is true; I was surprised myself when I looked. It seems both rosters have guys that are big (although more of the Blues better players are big), but the Blues focus on hitting more. The Hawks do hit with more purpose in the playoffs (although I am sure they will not out-hit the Blues once in this series). - mohel
For the Hawks, it comes down to the willingness to be hit. When they do that, they play their best. |

The Hawks offense starts because they have the best passing defense in the league...If they are clicking with passes the pace is fast but if not the Hawks don't have as much of an advantage.

I really only hoped to see Mashinter dress for a game if our team doesn't handle the ultra physical style that the Blues likely bring. And then I would limit his minutes. He has a purpose but I never meant to suggest that he would play much at all. The Blackhawks were tough enough in the last playoffs. Just a tad concerned how they handle the rough play after seeing the poor response to Orpik's check. - jhawk59
What?
Did you miss the part where I mentioned that Mashinter is slow, or the part where he can barely keep up with his faster linemates? How about the part where he takes bad penalties?
You're suggesting to put Mashinter out there in the Blues series with limited minutes? To do what? Have his ass handed to him by Ryan Reeves? To be too slow and miss guys in Blue sweaters when attempting to put a check on them, or blowing defensive coverage? All while playing limited minutes to tax other players who will have to double shift?
How does this help the Hawks win in the playoffs?
If you're a "tad concerned" about the Blues physical play, how about the Hawks just stick to what they've been doing? It's produced 2 Cups in the last 4 seasons. The Hawks have Bollig, Bickell, Saad and Shaw who are more than capable at throwing their weight around. Morin is a feisty guy too, and can help if Q lets him find his way into a game.
Mashinter has a purpose, and that purpose is to play the role of enforcer in Rockford - not Chicago. That's why the organization is going to pay him $100,000 a season in the AHL. |

A couple of things.
The Hawks hit back in the post season. The Blues do not like it at all. The one to watch if the Hawks are ready for this isn't Bickell, Bollig, Shaw, etc. Its Sharp. Watch his first shift. He sets the physical tone for this team.Saw the lines posted. After an initial wtf? with Kane on the 3rd line, its (frank)ing genius. Match him up against the Blues 3rd pairing. Or force them to choose.
(frank)ing Amc getting 5 mil a year is hilarious. He is a 3rd pairing guy. Hammer is better and by so far its not even funny.
Welcome back Ogi. (frank) the Blues. - Elbows15
And sometimes #10 accidently gets the blade of his stick stuck in an opponents scrotum. Just ask Brad Marchand and Nik Lidstrom. |

They'll also do what you talked about during the winter - take the hit that's there. You're right, they will hit back in the playoffs and it will be interesting to see how that goes. Fun sh!t, let's get started. |

Mashinter knows what his job is and preforms it night in and night out. Kyle Beach skates around with his thumb up his ass night in and night out.
There's the difference. - EKolb13

If they want to take runs at Toews' shoulder, you slash Tarasenko's hand. And put a big but legal hit on Oshie. Face wash Jackass. Shoot pucks low if Backes wants to try to block shots. (frank) em.
