That is because you dislike everything Avs. Jones was not very impressive at all to me this season. Guess we will see. Yeah yeah D versus forward. In fact, I forgot Jones played for the Preds every time they played the Hawks. - Elbows15
He dislikes everything, Avs or not. It is playoff time and Rollie has evicted the logical portions of his ample mind to make room for Playoff Redass. |

He has a million MM. One for every occasion. Psst. He is pretty good with them too. Well, he cracks me up anyway. |

He is still sore about the whole Toews trade idea. They both are going to be very good players. I like MacKinnon's game more. |

Eh, agree to disagree. And I don't really dislike everything Avs. I think ROR is maybe the most underrated player in the league. Plus Statsny is really, really good. I just don't think he's good enough offensively to compensate for what I see is at best an average defensive centers, and average defensive number one centers don't really win cups. Every team that wins the cup has that #1 d-man. |

Eh, I just don't like fans of other teams coming in here, on a Hawks board, and trying to tell me about their team, or the league, or the Hawks matchups. There's a gazillion places to talk about that stuff, this is a Hawks fan board. Plus everyone knows you have to flip the redass switch in the playoffs. |

Tallon has more lives than Morris the Cat.
He fell out of favor in Chg and landed in Florida. Tallon had a bucket full of money to right the ship, to navigate toward success.
Now he gets another opportunity to spend big and he also gets the first choice.
He did not make the best moves a couple.years ago - I give a "C" grade.
With veterans to help out I do not hear enough positive talking points about Kulikov. Gudbrudson has been injured off and on. He has shown like he could be a good one, so maybe Tallon cannot be faulted with that dman. However, if you build through the draft then you have to draft and develop well. Tallon's job depends upon it.
Now I cannot recall if Kulikov was a Tallon pick. But hearing his name in trade rumors the past two years is an indictment on Tallon. You develop young dmen, not trade or loose them to free agency. Dah.
Tallon may feel he can lure one or more top veteran dmen to Florida through free agency and or trade. Better be really good dmen to go along with his prized young centers. Descent second pair dmen add on is only taking Florida so far...not far in the playoffs next couple of years.
You have enough forwards and a lot of salary cap. Bring in some forwards to fit around those centers. But draft Ekblad and get a former NHL dman - or a good teacher - and instruct three young dmen. Florida has a couple of veterans to pair with the young dnen. Make it work. Although I will add this: Jovanowski is a walking disabled list asterik on the lineup card each season.
Just my two cents.
Oh btw I wonder if Trochek is ahead of J Hayes on the depth list. Until further notice ( or should say, development (s), Olsen is a 6th dman with managed TOI in the 15-20 minute range. Uncertain how he may or may not improve.
Drafting and development is always fascinating and interesting to study. Since the Entry Draft order of selection was today... Today this is a timely piece to submit. Not so much another day
Unnamed Source: are you quite confidant we will be tough enough against the Blues? I feel we may handle it ok. But the reaction to the Orpik hit was teamwide quite poor. |

It accomplished what I set out to do with it though Eli. It got the board going again. It was tumbleweeds in here. |

You beat me to it. Also, more than ever - it's important not to settle scores now. It's the playoffs. The object is to win. Scores can be settled next season. |

Mo was the only one who caught what I said really early. I came out and admitted what I was doing. Everyone was so beside themselves they missed that post.Tug and CB caught it too. |

There was a phone conversation between US and I a while back...
US: What's going on with Elbows? Is he serious about wanting to trade Toews?
EK: I don't know? Could be? Then again, maybe he's serious...
US: Something's wrong with that guy...
EK: Yeah, you're right. (frank) that guy!

It was a clean check according to Toews.
Now you have Tr Murray, who is old school and was quite frank, outspoken that a proper response was necessary.
I concur with Murray.
Hit me again, Blues team. I can take it. What, an arm/shoulder injury and Toews is out again. No worries. We will beat those bad mean Blues. We will show them.
Look I am just in favor of having some respect and dishing out some hits gains you respect. We do not have to match hit for hit. Just do not allow teams to steamroll us.
I think I have yo disable the program that guesses the words you type. And not be so quick to submit |

Sorry. I wouldn't trade Toews Rollie. Not even for Crosby. |
