Q has done it again.. sits one of his hottest players (Morin) and breaks that line up.
Why mess with it? Steeg hasn't don't schit lately. I would have played Morin over Steeg easily. That line with Morin was dominant that last few games. Oh well.. lets hope 19/88 have no rust because we have to take one of the first two in St. Louis. |

Hey, this Johns kid may be good, I know, let's trade part of the best d-pairing in the league! How does this make any sense. Plus, if he's so good, trade the worst RD, not the best one. - rollpards19
Exactly. Seabrook is slowing down. HE"S 28. Just entering his prime as a D-man. Well he is getting fat. Have you seen him not in his equipment? He is anything but fat.

They didn't get steamrolled. They really didn't play all that well. Losing Shaw hurt too. Keith was still sort of on his mental break. Oduya played really bad and their bottom 2 were a disaster. And Crow gave up back breakers. - Elbows15
And STILL five went to OT. |

I understand what Q is trying to do with the veterans. I think most of us saw this coming. I seriously disagree with his line of thinking, though.
Morin outplayed Zeus by a county mile down the stretch. I also thought Regin deserved a spot over Versteeg. Hopefully Q won't hesitate to pull the trigger on a switch if either or both continue their non productive ways. - NewToHockey
I don't think Q will have a problem with yanking Handzus out of the line-up. When that guy is off, he really does hurt the team and Q sees it. With Versteeg, I think the situation would have to be dire before he sits him. Down two or three games in a series, and I would think Q turns the line blender on high and gets desperate to try others. |

Yeah, I'll do it now too. Incredibly underrated and I want to kill Foley when he takes shots at him. - rollpards19
I will put this in terms you will understand. You know how you feel about Versteeg? That is exactly how I felt about Stalberg. |

Eh, agree to disagree. And I don't really dislike everything Avs. I think ROR is maybe the most underrated player in the league. Plus Statsny is really, really good. I just don't think he's good enough offensively to compensate for what I see is at best an average defensive centers, and average defensive number one centers don't really win cups. Every team that wins the cup has that #1 d-man. - rollpards19

We have seen that blender kicked on 10 minutes into a period. |

Pitts an exception to a lot, but it helps when you had the best 1st line center, the best 2nd line center, and the best 3rd line center in the entire league. Plus Gonchar was amazing in those playoffs. |

And more aggravating that they couldn't get a win in Chicago.
Seems they played Smith the way they've played Varlomov this year - no pressure, one-and-dones.
But - this is a much better, deeper, and (hopefully) healthier team. |

And MAF was very good - that last save in game 7 was terrific. |

I'll worry about the Avs after the Hawks dispatch the Blues.
Hey, did anyone see Todd Cordell's blog. He's got the Wild over the Avs in 7 games. |

That was the weirdest team to win a cup ever. Eric Staal scored a friggin hundred points, the back up goalie wins the Conn Smythe, and Brett Hedican was their best defenseman. But anyway I'd say that's the exception that proves the rule. I don't think Erik Johnson a #1 defenseman. |

I was trying to remember who filled that role for them. Truthfully, Cam Ward was their #1 D-man that year.
Edit: The 71 Canadiens. Both Boston and Chicago were miles better. Rangers may have been too. Dryden played 6 freaking games in the reg season and then stood on his head during the playoffs. Still the only player to win Conn Smythe and then the Calder trophy the following year. |

Not getting ahead of ourselves there - just making the comparison.
Blues are enough for my elderly heart, body and soul to worry about now.
