Yeah I remember the vision of Beach as a sheriff.
Morin on the Wonder Twins' line? Well I'd rather see him there than Bad Kris, but I think he compliments the bottom six better, and there would be MANY others who will get 1st line time over #11. - prd797
First of all, I edited that post of mine to be more clear, more concise.
Secondly, of course others would get an opportunity ahead of Morin.
Nonetheless an intriguing idea. But may happen next year. The way playoff games go back and forth, though, who knows if those three are at one moment on the ice together. Could happen. |

Congratulations, prd797, I herby anoint you as the fan whom gets credit for a well deserved badge to pin on one Mr Versteeg. He has a good game, we refer to him as good Chris; a bad game and he is bad Chris. |

Yes .....Batman and Robin need someone to help knock out the bad guys. At least for a trial run I am intrigued how Morin would fit in. When we are going hard for offense, try this combo. Morin has some nasty compete, he has a good shot and he is a good offensive player. I will overlook his hogging the puck, which may not happen on that troika. - jhawk59
Morin has really hustled his ass off as of recent, hasn't he?
The real question is can he bring that night after night for 82+ games a season? Let's be honest here, Morin's intensity is probably going to bottom out at some point. There is no player out there that is going to stay hot for an infinite amount of time. Not even Toews and Kane.
When Morin does level off, the hustle that he is showing to cover up his improved, but somewhat slow skating is not going to fly on the top lines. Spotting there for the short term maybe, but not for the long haul.
More of what should be viewed here is this - Morin has probably shown the organization enough to have a spot on this team next season. Beyond that, it's a crapshoot. He's a nice piece that brings a heavy shot and physical play to the game. He could conceivably spot on the wing in the top two lines from time to time, but to me he looks more like a third line wing who can give a good team secondary scoring. If he is to be a full time top line guy, I think he's going to need to have more time to prove that, if he ever does. Revisit that point a season or two from now. If Morin is still even here by then?
The other thing is that with what Morin has shown at the end of this season, Bowman could be using this as a "showcasing" situation. That's if Bowman does make some significant move after the playoffs, then Morin could be a good piece to move, especially if that move is really going to help the team going forward. |

Blackhawks win another Cup and we are all celebrating three "x's." Or just say three times X is very good indeed.

I think Versteeg will surprise people in the playoffs. I'd like to see Morin in the lineup too but I'd probably take Zeus out and shuffle up the lines. |

I think you see Ott v Toews at the dot.
I don't have any faith at all that the lines at Johnnies are the lines we see in game one. Q needs to push the pace hard and early to assess the ability of the injured Blues to keep up. If he finds they are unable to keep up, look for the top two lines to be 29-19-88 and 10-65-81.
Keith - haha. Leddy less than 10 for sure.

If the only thing Versteeg did was remove the blind/bad pass from his game he'd be a much more reliable player. You can live with the weak/non-existent backcheck as long as he does not hurt you in the offensive zone.
