So apparently the blues have zero chance.

Enjoy the second round Chicago...

Oh wait still have to play the games.

Kind of forgot that technicality

- sycsam

So because people pick Chicago to win the series, they are looking past the Blues? Does it work the other way too? Just asking

Ah memories. Forgot how good some of the goals were. Lots of odd man breaks and of course the greasy goals.

Id rather face Miller then Halak. Miller has not looked good. I thought that trade was a bad one for the Blues.
- z1990z

Everyone keeps saying this - but how can you look good with so many players out, including on both sides of the blue line?

If St. Louis gets it's important guys back and in hockey play-off shape, this is going to be a tough series, with goals at a premium for both sides: six games minimum.

I have confidence in my guys, but not booking reservations to Denver quite yet.

Lots of Hawks optimism on this board
I am guardedly optimistic

I cheared the Coyotes match up in 2012 and I cheared the Wings knocking out the Ducks last year
We all know the result in 2012 and if not for a great come back against the Wings last year we were dead in the second round
So I am not chearing the Blues match up this year

The west is so balanced that anyone could go deep

Dallas will be No bargain for the Ducks
Minnie no walk over for the Avs
LA SJose will go 7 and
Hawks Blues could also be 7

Both, look for the red Towes on Thursday and White Kane on Sat. Oh that might be a little difficult

The local "youths" have been having pick up games in front of the house. Is it wrong to watch from the living room window? Hopefully they stick with the tennis balls. The orange and red street hockey balls have been the source of more than a few dents

It's wrong if you have a microphone and a tape recorder and are doing play-by-play.

Or even color.

Ryan Miller is theBlues only chance.

Feel confident ?

- mrpaulish

I know its not going to be over in 4.

I am confident the blues will step up. It will be a tough series to win for sure.

I just am annoyed by the blues are a pushover theme

Its not the picking Chicago its the blatant disregard for a good blues team.

I think it will be a tough series for the blues to win but dont expect us to lay down either.

Hawks in four or five doesn make sense.

Hawks in 6 or 7 makes more sense.

Miller just doesn't have that confident look about him. Don't know if its age or diminished skill, but Halak was at the top of his game and really don't understand the trade. Could be wrong and Miller might go into the stratosphere and shut us down. Either way this will be a great series. Last time I saw a Hawks/Blues playoff game in person was 89/90 at the old barn. Great place it was.. Yes Im old.

I guess if I put on the Espo jersey (oddly tight fitting once was a tent) and serve as back up goalie from my porch with a Budlight, that's ok.

The good thing is that even if the Hawks do lose in the 1st round, Hawks fans only have to listen to like 3 or 4 Blues fans (on the high end) bragging and gloating. I think this will be a good series. Obviously nothing is easy, especially in the playoffs. I like the Hawks chances.
- BlazinMike

If the blues win there will be more than 3 or 4 but they are not the fans that have been around forever. They are the not yet ready for baseball season fans.

It will be a good series regardless of who wins.

You will be one in like 8k on Saturday I would bet. (well, maybe 3k with a Kane jersey)

I don't really mind the influx of Blackhawk fans. Yes it can get annoying, but unless it is a blowout, those are really fun games as everyone is in the game and loud, if nothing else to try and outdo the visiting fans.

Then on top of that, it will be a playoff game. This is going to be fun. All I ask is that I don't get half a cup of beer dumped on my back on a good scoring chance like the last home game against Chicago.

Smith isn't going anywhere. Probably more a case of him and his agent not wanting to worry about it during the season.
- Elbows15

Plus Smith is an RFA (Morin too). Think the only UFA to consider bringing back is the Great Dane.
