And how would you know this? Everything is a question mark. I am not saying start him from game one. I am saying that if I am having to decide between Ghost and Gus I might actually prefer Ghost. You can't tell me Ghost is not a better skater and has a better cannon then Gus. Right there are two things better then Gus.

The only ways I see Ghost getting into the playoffs this year:
1) Massive amounts of injuries (3+) to the defense.
2) The Flyers are down 0-3 in a series and the defense is getting outhustled.

You'll feel better about MacDonald when some GM signs Niskanen for 7 years and 42 million and when another trades a top forward prospect and 2 firsts for Byfuglien.

Steve Downie hasn't done anything ALL season. Playing him will only so more damage. More penalties too. He is so soft and gives up quickly. Ever since his first game where he got knocked out he hasn't been anything. I wish we still had talbot for his leadership and PK skill. Honestly we probly only did it to make a statement and the player we could afford to part with was talbot and we were gifted with the atrocious Downie. Guy would be a 3rd liner in the AHL.

If using him means burning a year off of his ELC, then I think short of 4 or 5 dmen going down, there is NO chance you'll see him this year. I would think Gus, Gill, Alt and Lauridsen would all get in before him.

If he was on the reserve list he can play but that burns an ELC year. Rumor has it he WAS on the reserve list. However, now there is talk he was signed to a ATO with the phantoms and the contract doesn't kick in till next year.

I don't think so. And I am not knocking Gus or any of the other ahl dman but there is a reason he was placed on the reserve list for playoffs. am not saying stick Ghost in if AMAC or Schenn or Grossmann go down but if Streit and hist skating and offense go down then maybe Ghost is a better option. i am not advocating to rushing him in. Just ponting out a chance that could see him play in an event Striet goes down.
