She's tweeted it like 3 times. It would be really bad if she was that demonstrative and wrong.

One thing I need to clarify and must be clarified for all you. I am sure she is right just based on what would be smart as the ELC is burned off just by signing the damn deal. So, if he signed a few days ago right in time for the playoffs, that's it, he's eligible for playoffs and it burns a year. If they sign it so he can play next season but is on ATO for the Phantoms then it doesn't burn a year. If you're not gonna play him right away then why burn the year?

Well, hey, if we're gonna done full chain mail and armor and have a go at it, I'm all in. Just seems easier to drop our trousers and have a go at it.

Thats what they did. He will then become a member of the black aces and practice with the Flyers, but won't play.

Where are you getting this information from?

Unless there are some special rules for drafted college players signed late in the season, I'm not aware of. A players ELC is not burned off just by signing it. It's burned off by actually playing more then 9 NHL games that it takes.

Which history would that be?

The history of RFA's unsigned in NHL history. Go to capgeek and take a look at the lenghty list of unsigned RFA's. I's not uncommon and it's not a big deal.

Question. I find it funny that so many bloggers and people from other non-playoff and struggling franchises seem to want to comment on how ridiculously bad the AMAC deal is. Don't they have there own issues to deal with?

I think she is correct. You need to be on the reserve list, and sign before the end of the season.
- Feanor

I think it's signed by the trade deadline, not the end of the season.

Ok. He'll practice with the black aces and red kings. The black queens and red jacks will practice alone.

I think he can play. if she is signed and was on the reserve list. I don't see why you would want to waste a spot for someone you can't play. I know it will be good for him to practice but i would rather have someone I can use if needed be on the reserve list.

Just chiming in now.. two big signings.. I am pumped about the Ghost signing.. all that worry for nothing lol..

Now with the Mac D signing.. I like it, .. maybe a bit of an overpay, but not too bad. I am glad to keep him and if Timo retires, we will need him to be one of the top 4..

just saw the mcdonald signing. what do you guys think? i really dont think it can be seen as THAT bad. at the very least, you get the security of knowing that niskanen is going to probably get 6 or more a year from somebody other than the pens.

Because there is no reason for the player to take a discounted deal. Yes, they paid himwhat he'd have gotten on the market -- but that's also assuming the price wouldn't go even a little higher than that with multiple bidders where it would be a Matt Carle situation all over again if the Flyers didn't act early.

I don't see it as bad at all. The Flyers locked up a quality defenseman for market value.
