Shea Weber will never be a Philadelphia Flyer.

Oh yeah? Try telling that to the majority of this board.

That can't be. Don't you know that every Philadelphia sports fan in a heartless bastard just waiting to start a fistfight with any fan of any other team?

But really, I've actually only had real problems at a game with other Flyers fans. I ended up putting one in a chokehold at the end of Game 6 in 2009 because he and some buddies jumped some Penguins fans, who were actually nice guys (they sat next to me and were low key).

The incident in Nashville was at a club. It was a little chilly, so I wore a coat. Some bumhole from NY came up to me and gave me some poop about it, and I basically just ignored him, I didn't feel like getting arrested on vacation. Then the same guy bumped into my wife pretty hard twice (I didn't notice the first time), and she turned around and said something about it, and he got all riled up. I told him in no uncertain terms I was more than willing to beat the brakes off him if it happened again.

i dont blame you for the apprehension. id have the same concerns. unfortunately, the market is going to provide guys like him insane amount of leverage. someone will gladly pony up to take the plunge. ive pretty much accepted the fact that he wont be on the pens next year.
- stayinthefnnet

Frank the Market. But yes you are correct. Players like Niskanen know how much they can make no matter whether they are worth it or not. I know the Pens have a lot of young blueliners but do you think they will be able to replace the hole of Niskanen's leaving with youth? He has been pretty vital this year.

if i ever can afford a pens/flyers playoff game, remind me to give you a call.

but seriously, for as much as i howl on about most fans being douchebags, the whole notion of violence is usually extremely overblown.

i dont think he will be easy to replace at all. but thats the nature of the cap. you cant have it all, all the time. i dont see how they can fit in a 6.5 mil contract for him while not totally (frank)ing things up somewhere else.

and those nice shiny d prospects wont get a sniff anyway. itll just be all engelland and bortuzzo im sure.

As a Penguins fan, you are barred from any of my potential Flyers/Pens playoff tix. I took my brother-in-law to Game 4 in 2012, and look how that went. Never again! Regular season though, if they ever free up, we could do something.

The majority of fights I've seen at Flyers games are usually started at TML games, by TML fans.

Edit: I did attempt to fight basically an entire section at the Eagles/Chiefs game this year. Ended up calling some dude a pirate.

I'd love to bait MJL into a brawl period
- mrhattrick27

You say that now. But 10 pages of back to back posts arguing the same point will make you rethink that idea. If you do want to start something with him pick on Grossmann or VL.

This blue-line looks good for next year. Wouldn't mind seeing Grossman traded for a pick and signing Ron Hainsey. I think he's the kind of veteran player we could use back there, and he won't cost the vault.

Will be huge of Lauridsen, Alt, Ghost or even Morin or Haag could somehow win a spot next year.

well, what youve listed in B is totally fine. and if people react to B in the nature described in A, whatever happens to them is usually their fault. but it all depends on what you define the parameters of B to be.

Fair assessment. They need Forward Depth (that doesnt get injured) so they should spend that money there.

I can see either Grossmann or L Schenn getting moved, which would give Lauridsen the inside track on earning a spot.

Was 2009 the night it rained? That post Pens Flyers lot was complete chaos. I've never seen so many fights. My son and I walked two guys out. When we got to 11th street I said have a good night. The one guy told me to F off. They walked across the street and three guys came running over and jumped them. We walked right past.

In the Linc Lot some guy was challenging some heavy set nerdy Pens fan to a fight. He hit him when we got close. I sent the kid to the car and held the guy on the ground until a bike cop came.

There were fights every where.

Honestly even if the return isnt great I would prefer Grossmann. I just dont like the idea of selling this low on L Schenn. It just doesnt seem worth it.

I don't think it rained. It was a day game, I think, but it could have rained. I mean, blowing that 3-0 lead to lose the series was rough, but I've never wanted to fight anyone over sports.

I think Lauridsen is played out. If he hasn't gotten a bigger taste at this point he isn't going to. Whatever his issues are they're keeping him in the AHL.

Why do you think he has any kind of track to a roster spot? I don't see it.

Why would you think that is sarcasm. Engellend has extraordinary hockey sense and is always in control of his actions, never taking a bad late penalty. His toughness is essential to your team. Depres can only hope to be as good as Engellend but realistically he probably wont be able to reach that level. Not everybody can be that good.

/It's Sarcasm
