It's pretty easy to tell when people are actually being malicious or not. - mrhattrick27
If you attend a Flyers/Penguins playoff game, expect to be called names, booed, pointed at, and probably for a few people to get in your space. It's the angry drunken ones (usually college kids or a bit older) you usually have to watch out for. |

What do you see Grossmann's value is?
A late 2nd? 2 3rds? |

I don't think it rained. It was a day game, I think, but it could have rained. I mean, blowing that 3-0 lead to lose the series was rough, but I've never wanted to fight anyone over sports. - jmatchett383
Yeah. That was a day game and not the night I was referencing. We tailgated after the Carcillo game. |

I think Lauridsen is played out. If he hasn't gotten a bigger taste at this point he isn't going to. Whatever his issues are they're keeping him in the AHL.
Why do you think he has any kind of track to a roster spot? I don't see it. - mayorofangrytown
From what I heard, he was sent down to the AHL this year to work on solidifying his defensive game (which he has). I'm not sold on his short body of work from last year, but he has shown glimpses that he can hang. And if the Flyers wanted to replace one of Schenn/Grossmann with a cheap, physical, stay-at-home guy, he's as good of a bet as any. I'm not saying he's the second coming, but I think he'll be given a shot at camp, again, if one of them is moved. |

Why would you think that is sarcasm. Engellend has extraordinary hockey sense and is always in control of his actions, never taking a bad late penalty. His toughness is essential to your team. Depres can only hope to be as good as Engellend but realistically he probably wont be able to reach that level. Not everybody can be that good.

I think part of his issues is that he is a Defensive Defenseman on a team loaded with them. I think that he could be a good 6th or 7th. What do you see his issues as? I would like to know how the organization views him.
I think he could compete for one during camp. If he doesnt get up next season id say he's played out |

He won't get you a first, but something like what you said, maybe a 3rd and a prospect. Depends on the market. |

i mean people's respective tolerance and color of humor can vary wildly. its a spectrum. a little boos here and there or innocent teasing or ribbing is one thing. but it can blur fairly quickly. |

Okay, I just think as prospects go he kind of down there on the list at D. They don't even mention him anymore. Gostisbehere, Morin, Haag, Alt all seem to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
I've watched some Phantoms games and he really doesn't make his presense felt. |

I agree. I really dont think the market is that great for aging defensive defenseman with bad knees and concussion problems. He is a warrior, blocks shots, and logs hard minutes which does play in his favor. Maybe you could swing something to a desperate team that misses out on free agents |

Haha, when I went to Washington and made the announcement that most people in there must not like teams that had actually won a Stanley Cup, several patrons got quite uppity with me. One of my favorites was, "Yeah, well how many Super Bowls have you won!?" to which I replied, "None, I've never played football. How many have you won!?" He didn't quite know what to say, so went with the good old, "Shut the (frank) up, wussy!" |

I can see either Grossmann or L Schenn getting moved, which would give Lauridsen the inside track on earning a spot. - jmatchett383
Definitely Grossman, cant imagine Schenn goes anywhere based solely off his age alone. |

Honestly I think I've had it a bit easy in the past because I have gone to a few with my girlfriend and usually no one is that big of a douche to start poop with a girl at one of these games. But hey, we will see. I'm debating whether to wear my 'Nova hat as a sign of peace |

To be fair, he plays on the Phantoms.
He's probably the most polished of any of the guys in our system. Two of him, Gus, and Alt need to be our 7th and 8th dmen next year. It would be fantastic if one of them could land a role as a regular.

some of this is okay. some of this definitely isnt. if im just sitting there watching the game, the last one isnt.
granted, some people bring things on themselves, regardless of what team sweater they have on. |
