Possession when entering the offensive zone is key but the Rangers gap control and strong defense of standing up at the blue line has been a problem in recent Rangers games. Flyers can back up the Rangers defense better with nice soft cross corner dumps in full flight. Rather they throw a couple of different looks than constantly trying to skate across the blue line ineffectively with tons of offsides and players not up on the play enough for support. - Pixote Andolini
Excellent analysis!

Isn't Rinaldo like 5 foot 10 and 170 pounds?
That's basically my build. Ghost could just be another one of those guys who has the metabolism of a freak. He will have to excel with his smarts to make it. Its where Guss falls short, being man-handled too easily. Havent seen much of Gostisbehere but have heard he has good hockey sense.
Same thing with Bodie who was signed by the Rangers. - flyer_nutter
Having watched Gostisbehere at the Frozen Four, I have to say that I'm not as impressed with him as most are here. He is definitely undersized for a defenseman, he made some questionable plays in his own end.
Now, as a rule Union seemed to play with three forwards and two offencemen at all times, so it makes it somewhat harder for me to judge his game on its own merits.
I did not watch the regionals, where I'm told his play was actually superior to what he put on display Thurs. and Sat.
Ghost might be really good... he might be Greg Hawgood. We'll see.
You can never ever ever ever have enough defenseman, I'm glad they got him inked now.

I'm really late to the party on this thread, so this may have (probably has) already been discussed.
Gostisbehere is potentially the playmaking defensemen we've dreamed of for years; however, he is small. Really small. 165 lbs kinda small. I think he already has the talent for the professional game, but does anyone think he may be moved to wing? He played there was he was younger.
As much as we could use his talents at the blue line, I wonder if it makes sense for him to be a forward. - Hesh_
He's 172/173 now and wants to get up to 180.
I doubt there is any intention of moving him to forward. |

Don't know who that guy is but bottom end I think he's Torrey Krug. Enuf to get excited about. I think he could actually look better with faster more skilled teammates. I do need to see more defensively. I hope they give him the year with lehigh[img][/img] |

As long as they give him a better development routine than Sbisa/Guss. |

Erik Karlsson is 174. He does just fine. Ghost will be the best skater on our blue line, maybe even the best on the team. He'll be fine. |

Even if Ghost can muscle up to 180 or so, it's still my top concern. Ex: Mark Howe used to play at 190-195 LBS on his 5-foot-10 frame. |

He won't be as big as Howe and probably won't make the HoF either.
Still our best D prospect in a decade. |

Ya I guess, but Ghost has won a collegiate award for best defensive defenseman, so there's hope. |
