Don't - MBFlyerfan
You should be able to in theory, but sadly, alcohol and the collective low intelligence of crowds/mobs mean in reality, you probably shouldn't
Sad, the way the world is. Rational people have to ask question like this because they know that there are some bumholes out there who can't mind their own business because they're one of many in a pack, when those same bumholes are absolutely nothing when they're all alone |

Can I ask off topic advice?
I am taking my 9yro to MSG on Sunday for game 2. 200 level.
Safe to wear O&B?
I mean even horrible rags fans wouldn't harrass a 9 year old kid, right?!?! - FlyersFirst
Yeah I wouldn't be worried.
But this one time at a Mets game at the old Shea Stadium I was with a couple friends (Mets fans) but I was getting heckled pretty tough from some guys a couple rows up from me. I never turned around or fed into their antics. Towards the end of the game after Pat Burrell sealed the win with a 3-run HR they got more ornery and started screaming and threatening. I could feel them doing something not quite kosher and so I turned around finally and in that moment they were in the act of pouring their beer cups on me. My timing of turning around at the right moment allowed me to side step it and the beer ended up going all over a little girl Mets fan with her dad. She was probably 7 or so. I felt so bad. Her dad was NYFD and he got up and absolutely gave it to those guys. |

Oh man all the Mets fans around me were telling those drunk kids to stop messing with me even before they poured beer on a little girl. After that happened it was all over. People were disgusted with them. I'd be ashamed if I saw something like that from fans of my team. |

i'd go as far as to say if he doesnt suit up for the playoffs the flyers are risking shoving a huge wrench in the gears of his development that could prove catastrophic - Crimsoninja
its kind of hard to plug a NCAA player, or ANY player, into a brand new system at the NHL level. Especially in the playoffs. It's not gonna happen.
As much ability as the kid has right now, I still have some doubts that you'll see him with the big club even next season.
Defensemen take a little time to settle in. Yes, offensive defensemen are quicker to adapt than defensive defensemen, but 20 years old with the big club is a tall order. Especially at 5'11 and now what we're calling 170ish lbs.
We'll get a taste in the preseason, but I have a feeling he won't play a full 9 games and start the clock on his contract. Not unless they decide to bring him up in the middle of the year.
We're all sitting and waiting with little patience, but be prepared for him to play a little with the Phantoms. Perhaps a season. |

Thanks for the Sammy updates. Too bad. Sounds like he had a heckuva learning experience game. He's not valuable to his team sat in the box for a 10 minute misconduct. Growing pains is the best way to learn. Another season and hopefully a nice role at the World Juniors would be a nice way to round out his junior campaign. |

Thanks for all the advice.
I think I am gonna play it safe.
Might wear something underneath and show it at the warm up and if the idiot quotient is tolerable in our area show our support during the game.
I just want my son to have a good time. |

And there's no reason for it. Even alcohol consumption doesn't explain it. People in large crowds, when they're in the majority and they spot someone who is different...some of them are worse than animals like hyenas, who simply run their prey to exhaustion or until it is backed into a corner, never attacking until the prey can't defend itself due to their numbers

I agree for the most part. I'm just stoked he's signed and going to get his feet wet for a few games in the A. We'll see how he looks in camp come September.
The Red Wings Tatar is a pretty small guy out there but also an effective player.
He's 5'10" 186 and 21. He's got nice speed and shiftiness, but 186 is definitely stocky for that size. |

Chris Kreider did it, I believe, for the Rangers in 2012.

Yeah, that is kinda where I am at.
That said, my little boy is a growing rabid die hard.
Screams his head off like his daddy.
Will have to be silent up there and stay seated. |

Yeah you can totally cheer and stand up for Flyer goals and stuff. Just have to tone it down a little and be respectful. I'm sure your son will get it. |

I really want to see a Flyers sniper score on Lundqvist on a totally unscreened shot from the top of the circles or further out. I think the Flyers put Lundqvist up on a pedestal. I think Read, Giroux, Voracek, VLC and maybe even Simmonds and B.Schenn can beat him like that. |

If you put Lundqvist on the pedestal he'll burn you. There's a reason he's called the king. As (I think it was you) earlier suggested, the Flyers need to gain zone entry through soft, high dump ins, fight hard along the boards like we do, and get the puck to the net to score dirty goals. If we crash the net I think we have a good chance offensively. |
