I'm still not sure trading Richards and Carter was a great deal for you guys. Loaded you up with young talent and prospects, but the Kings won the Cup with those 2 guys being main contributors and you made the SCF with those 2 guys. I guess we have to wait and see if the core youth those deals got you end up taking you to the promise land within the next 5-10 years. - rangerdanger94
Right but we didn't trade both to the Kings. Carter got there from another trade. Sucked watching them lift the cup, but really in this case I think both teams made out well |

According to parent the flyers did have ghost on the reserve list at TDL

Not that it means that he would play for them in playoffs and not sure if that would burn a year of his ELC if he did - consig
It would burn a year. |

It's highly unlikely he plays for them this year. The Flyers will have lost the series by the time they'd go to him. |

I'm wondering who Ghost will be paired with for the Phantoms. Lauridsen or Gervais maybe? It seems that, based on the Phantoms' starting line-up tweets, that Alt and Hagg have become a pairing which is pretty intriguing. |

There were rumors the Flyers offered both Carter and Richards to Columbus for Voracek, Johansson, 1st rounder (8th overall became Couts) and another first rounder which became Ryan Murray. |

Pairing with Lauridson would make sense. I imagine they'll ease him in. I don't think he'll be playing over 20 minutes and manning the top PP unit right off the bat. |

No, he's not. Flyers didn't have Ghost on their reserve list. The Rangers had Kreider in 2012. - rangerdanger94
i think he actually is on the reserve list. |

They were complimentary players on that Kings team. Simmonds and Voracek are as good as Richards and Carter right now. When you add in Couts, Schenn, Grossmann and Cousins it becomes very lopsided.
If the Kings didn't win the cup, this trade would be viewed extremely favorably from a Flyers standpoint. - PhillySportsGuy
I'd say they played bigger roles than just being complimentary players. Simmonds and Voracek have never scored more than 30 goals, although Simmonds has come close twice. Carter has scored over 30 goals 3 times, with 1 of those seasons being a 40 goal season, and had a few seasons where he came real close to 30. Richards had a crappy year this year but he scored 30 goals for you guys a couple times and came close with 28 another year. I'm not sure Simmonds or Voracek are as good now as Carter and Richards were for you guys.
Couts might be the wildcard factor that determines which side those trades fall. Although, the Kings already won the Cup so they definitely win their side of the trades no matter what, but it remains to be seen if the Flyers win. It's tough to knock the deal because you got a lot of good players, just a lot of "what ifs" in my opinion. |

I'm still concerned that Brayden Schenn isn't signed.
If he doesn't sign and the Flyers want to trade him, doesn't not being signed hurt his value? - Flyersgod
No reason to be concerned about Schenn not being signed. And I don't think it hurts his trade value one bit. |

Yea I was wrong about him not being on your reserve list. I thought I read yesterday that he wasn't. But still, I don't think he can play this year because as someone else posted earlier, his ELC kicks in next year and he only signed an ATO with your AHL affiliate for this year. |

All of the great seasons you're naming came with the Flyers. Would the Flyers have won the cup with Richards and Carter the last two years? No. They didn't have the goaltending or defense. Are the Flyers in better position now and the future for making those trades. Definitely. |

Yeah, I definitely agree with that. Lauridsen's skillset would compliment Ghost's the best, I feel. I just wish that you could find AHL players' average time on ice somewhere. I'd like to know how many minutes Hagg and Alt get because they do seem to be the top pairing. |

Its nice to have some legit defensive prospects for once.
As a side, I heard the new Facility in Allentown is top notch and rated as one of the best AHL facilities. Ticket sales are also booming.
It's also much closer to Philly so the scouts and management can get out to see the games more often. |

Who knows if the Flyers would've won the cup with Richards and Carter? Maybe they could've.
Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that Carter and Richards produced more during their time with the Flyers than Simmonds and Voracek have so far. Those trades didn't necessarily address your goaltending or defense either, only gave more depth offensively outside of Grossman so far. |

Very cool. I'll probably make a few trips out there since it isn't far at all, then make a pitstop at Weyerbacher or Fegley's brewpub for some tasty beers after the game. |

Yeah. It might be worth driving out and seeing some games. It would help give you an idea of how players are used and how they're playing. I bet CSN could make a quick buck if they televised more of the games. |
