Definitely. I'm glad they're moving closer. Plus they might actually have a solid team next season with Leier and maybe Laughton joining the forwards and Ghost, Hagg, and Alt anchoring the defense. I'd love it if CSN televised some games. Would be better entertainment than the Sixers. - TobyFlenderson
Looks like Cousins is finally figuring it out too. |

the rangers' guy brought it up more as a comment/observation than to start the debate amongst those of us who already hashed it out - hogweed

So, how do you think Richards and Carter will perform in the playoffs? Let's use past experiences to provide facts for our hypothesises (hypothesi???) |

I'd say they played bigger roles than just being complimentary players. Simmonds and Voracek have never scored more than 30 goals, although Simmonds has come close twice. Carter has scored over 30 goals 3 times, with 1 of those seasons being a 40 goal season, and had a few seasons where he came real close to 30. Richards had a crappy year this year but he scored 30 goals for you guys a couple times and came close with 28 another year. I'm not sure Simmonds or Voracek are as good now as Carter and Richards were for you guys.
Couts might be the wildcard factor that determines which side those trades fall. Although, the Kings already won the Cup so they definitely win their side of the trades no matter what, but it remains to be seen if the Flyers win. It's tough to knock the deal because you got a lot of good players, just a lot of "what ifs" in my opinion. - rangerdanger94
From a production standpoint, here's how it breaks down since the trades (regular season):
Richards: 204 GP, 41 G, 76 A, 117 P
Carter: 136 GP, 59 G, 33 A, 92 P
Voracek: 208 GP, 63 G, 94 A, 157 P
Simmonds: 209 GP, 72 G, 69 A, 141 P
Schenn: 183 GP, 40 G, 45 A, 85 P
Cooter: 205 GP, 30 G, 51 A, 81 P
Doesn't look too bad, eh? Especially considering the age of the guys we recieved. |

I think they'll do well. I like the Kings to come out of the West. |

Sadly, I think this kinda exemplifies how the Flyers beat the Penguins in 2012. |

Downie has been struggling since Christmas and the Flyers wait until the 82nd game to give Akseon a shot on the 3rd line. Better late than never, I guess. |

even the PPG production favors the flyers, with just those two dudes.
Richards: 204 GP, 41 G, 76 A, 117 P - .57 ppg
Carter: 136 GP, 59 G, 33 A, 92 P - .68 ppg
Voracek: 208 GP, 63 G, 94 A, 157 P - .75 ppg
Simmonds: 209 GP, 72 G, 69 A, 141 P - .67 ppg
add in the fact that Coots is relied on to shut down top lines and Schenn has scored 20 goals this year. i'm not sure how anyone really considers the swapping of those two players and the flyers getting those 4+ being anything than a huge victory for a Flyers team needing to re-gear.
