Haha....well give them a bit of time would you???
I think the Flames already have a solid goalie (Ramo) with some great prospects coming up: Ortio in Abbottsford (named to the all rookie team) and also Gillies down in the NCAA.
Not only that but the Flames D core is far ahead of what the Oilers was and still is to this day. Giordano, Brodie, Wideman, and Russell are a solid top 4. We still have Smid and Butler (maybe) bringing up the rear, and also have Wotherspoon and Seiloff ready to make the jump soon.
Between Monahan, Baertschi, Gaudreau, Klimchuk, Poirier, Jankowski (JK JK) and whoever they get this year, I think the forwards aren't looking too bad either. With this years growth of Backlund, Colbourne, Bouma and Byron, I think the Flames are well on their way.
So suck on that. - The-O-G
Sucking on things is the only thing Calgary can get right. Don't even have enough cups to fill a bra. |

Yakupov could easily bust. If he does, we've already seen how it might happen.
But I wouldn't call him a bust yet.
Man I hate those emoticons... - Morris
Big centre and a crashing winger on his line and he will be the guy we expected.

Is Baertschi developing well? He seems like he can't make the next step to the NHL. He'll have a good stretch and then be completely out of his league the next? He's still pretty young but I'd start to get worried the same way that people have wondered if Pajarrvi will ever be able to make the next step

Gagner 2015 1st and gernat for those two? What gets them. They would definitely help but I don't know their value to Columbus |

Or any other player Kop is a beast. I think Yak would benefit from another Russian that could play on the 2nd line with him. Him an Bryz seemed to get along good. |

Word is he is doing fine down in the A. I think everyone here expected him to make the team this year, and when he didn't everyone was all over him.
He recently won AHL player of the week and had a 5 point game a few weeks back as well. I'm sure he will make the team next year and I'm sure he'll be fine. Hopefully he doesn't turn into MPS, that's worst case scenario. |

I guess I'm not the only one having doubts about Leon,I have read around the media that Leon reminds lots of people of Jason Bonsignore I hope I'm wrong if the Oil do pick Leon. |

I wasn't being rude just mentioned the things I know. Cammalleri walking would hurt though. Both team are hurting and missing what the other needs. We should just join forces would be a playoff team lol Edmonton flames. |

Bet #3: Oilers take Draisaitl
Draisaitl should be there when the Oilers pick. He’s big and great with the puck. His playoff scoring wasn’t great, just three points in four games, and his regular season scoring doesn’t put him in the most elite level of attacking for draft age players.
But the Oilers need size, they need a centre, and it’s a good bet Edmonton will go with Draisaitl.
My only worry — as infected with memory of all things Oilers as I am — is that Draisaitl will turn out to be more like Jason Bonsignore than Jason Arnott.
But, of course, Draisaitl is his own person, an individual. He is master of his fate, the captain of his soul. The kid will write his own story, not follow a narrative from the past.
Not saying we should believe the media but from what I have seen about Leon to me IMO for his size he plays soft,He's got some skills which it was the same as JB,like I said I hope I'm wrong if the Oil do take him. |

I just performed a simple google search with "Leon Draisitl comparison". Here are the top results excluding his Wikipedia page.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=709135
http://prospects.dobbersp...gible/5144-leon-draisaitl
http://blogs.edmontonjour...e-perfect-fit-for-oilers/
http://www.ontheforecheck...tl-nhl-draft-2014-profile
With these results, including your lack of link for your article, your obsession with the comparison to Jason Bag-o-poop, is negligible.
The thing with drafting, is anything can happen with these young guys. We could take Ekblad and he could turn into the next Teubert or Barker or we take Reinhart and he turns into Curtis Hamilton. Nothing is a given. None of these guys are going to come onto the team within the next 3 years and become the superman the Oiler fans desire. |

I find it funny how this guy says that Draisaitl didn't put up regular season numbers but had more goals and the same amount of points that reinhart did. That seems like a person who hasn't seen him play and is basing his talent off of the world juniors.
