You had a coach come onto the field and fight you? - PhillySportsGuy
Rink. Yes. Basically, my best friend really isn't a guy you want to mess with. His sole goal was to basically murder the grown man who had just 2-handed a 15-year-old in the head. On the way, some other guy said, "What, you gonna do something?" So my friend grabbed him and literally beat him across the rink. Once he got up against the boards, the entire team piled on and it ended with the old man coach kicking my friend. |

Not very many know the difference between "then" and "than". E.g., "I like the Flyers better THEN the Rangers". I wanna scream! "Elements of Style" would be a few bucks well spent. |

Thats what I meant.
I had a crazy lady yell at me from the stands. She thought I was going to fight her son. I know he drilled me with that fastball, but I restrained myself. |

I fired a slapshot at parents before. Sadly, my slapshot often loses races to turtles. But I made my point. |

Correct: Couldn't care less.
Incorrect: Could care less.
Could care less means that on a continuum of caring, one can care anywhere from a little bit to an infinite amount.
Couldn't care less means that you already do not care at all. There is absolutely no amount that one could care less than one already does.
So when Luke Schenn says to Sarah Baicker "I can hardly wait" -- it really means that he does not seem to care about when the playoffs begin. He can wait, if needed.
But if he "can't hardly wait" -- well, that means he's champing (not chomping) at the bit for the playoffs to begin.
Horses "champ" at a "bit" -- which is placed in their mouths. |

bwahahahahahha....are you (frank)ing kidding me?
the devils have exactly 1 more stanley cup, and of course have moved twice. the flyers have had a tremendous amount of winning and success in their history including 8 trips to the final. obviously it hasn't translated to the ultimate goal more than twice, but i wouldn't trade it to be a fan of any other franchise.
beat it, Richardwad. - hammarby31
They seem to think their history started in 1995, they forget they moved twice. |

Wow. I had a math class like that. I had taken calc in high school and had to sit through a class that taught us basic arithmetic on the first day. |

Sometimes, I have run-on sentences and It's really not my fault because the english language wasn't taught well to me because I went to a public school and the teachers paid more attention to the kids who really couldn't write and never paid attention to the rest of the class, but I guess they had to because the kids really needed the help. - PhillySportsGuy
In my day, we rode our family dinosaur to ye olde school house, took out our quill pens, dipped them in the ink pot, and practiced our writing until our fingers bled. We then returned home, plowed the fields, hunted for supper and did our chores.
You kids have it easy!! |

from Elliote Friedman, who is fast becoming my favorite hockey writer outside of Bill:
30. Earlier in the season, we looked at a stat about Nov. 1. From 2005-06 to 2011-12, just three out of 32 teams who were four points or more out of the playoffs on that date recovered to get in. This year, two of eight beat those odds -- Dallas and Philadelphia, both of whom were five back. It's the first time more than one club did it in the same season. Ottawa, Winnipeg, Calgary, Florida, Buffalo and Edmonton were unable to make the climb.

My friend (same guy) recently told me that math should cover the 4 basic operations and stop at the introduction of fractions, and should only be taught further to those that want to go further. In a sense, he's right. In a sense, I'm very sad that people don't understand fractions well. |

Stop the word plethora.
Based on. Not based off. Of you base off something, your structure falls the (frank) over.
Centered on. Not around. If I'm in a helicopter and the pilot is landing it, I want it to be centered on the helipad so I land on the helipad. Not centered around the helipad so I miss the helipad |

I was taught that some form of punctuation is necessary in all places that you have a pause. Which commas are necessary? Is the sentence technically acceptable yet bulky?
So, I went to the store, but they were out of turkey, but, luckily, they had plenty of chicken. - jmatchett383
