He'll be too expensive. I would much rather look to move salary and acquire Jagr - PhillySportsGuy
I'd love this, but he'll want top-line minutes over Jake. He'll want to play with Jagr more than just on the PP. |

Bye Grossman. Hello Jags - Giroux_Is_God
I loved Jagr. I wish he never left. He was such a good fit for G. |

My keys to the Flyers beating the Rangers
1. Get in Hanks face!
Lundqvist doesn't like getting crowded and bumped. I'd be willing to trade a pp attempt against if that is what it takes to get him off his game a bit. Either way, if the Flyers are going to score, getting traffic in front and going hard to the net is a must.
2. Win the special teams battle
Both teams will get their chances on the powerplay. The team that cashes in on a more consistent basis, will likely win the series
3. Mason
Mason needs to be healthy and play well to win this series. Emery can come in, and maybe even win game 1, but he's not going to win you the series.
4. Secondary scoring
Claude Giroux and the powerplay isn't enough. The Flyers will need offense from their 2nd and 3rd lines if they are going to be successful. I'm looking for VL to be a sleeper in this series, especially if he can get some matchups against the Rags 4th line and 3rd D pairing.
5. Don't get frustrated
If you don't score in the first period, don't get rattled and stray away from your game plan. Play hard and smart and keep the skates moving.
6. Hit Nash
Nash can be goaded into taking stupid penalties. A guy like Rinaldo can absolutely get him off his game. The key will be for Zac to keep his own cool. And this leads to..
7. Be smart
Don't take stupid penalties, such as retaliatory hits or restraining penalties in the offensive zone. Don't take lazy penalties cause you stopped skating. Don't make drop passes in the D or neutral zones. Don't make no-look cross ice passes just inside the Rags blue line (Yeah, I'm talking to you Jake!), and don't ice the puck when you're not even under too much pressure.
GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think if Grossman were to get moved out in a trade, the flyers would be taking salary back. - Just5
That would defeat the purpose of trading him. Lots of teams around the league could do with a player like Grossmann, but we don't need him and Schenn in my opinion. |

My picks for the first round
Boston vs Detroit
I know a lot of folks are picking an upset here, but I just don't see it. To me, the regular season record between the two means squat. The Bruins are just too deep up front and I'll take Rask over Howard. Bruins in 6
Montreal vs Tampa
The Lightning are really going to miss Bishop as this series goes on and the Canadiens have some guy named Briere who seems to do ok in playoff games. However the Lightning have battled all year and they will make the Habs work their tails off. Montreal in 7
Flyers vs the spawn of satan aka the Rangers
I see a split in both buildings and a 2-2 series after 4 games. I then see the Flyers winning game 5 in NY and finishing off the Rags at home. Flyers in 6
Pittsburgh vs Columbus
Bobrovsky will outplay Fleury, but it won't be quite enough. Penguins in 6
Chicago vs St. Louis
The Blues are pretty banged up, though Toews and Kane are coming off injuries as well. However the Blackhawks are a team built for the post season and Miller just doesn't seem comfortable in St. Louis. This one will go the wire, but in the end it will be: Chicago in 7
Colorado vs Minnesota
The Avs don't have a whole lot of playoff experience and they will only go as far as Varlamov will take them. However they should have enough to get by the Wild. Colorado in 7
Anaheim vs Dallas
Dallas is a relatively young team that should be very proud of themselves for the season they had. However they are not quite there yet, and I can't see them beating the Ducks. The games will be close, and the Stars will never quit, but Anaheim is just the better team. Anaheim in 6
San Jose vs Los Angeles
The West coast war begins!! One of these teams may well win the cup while the other will be on the golf course in 2 weeks, unreal. It seems that most are picking the Kings, but San Jose IMO has been looking ahead to the playoffs almost since the season started. For guys like Thorton and Boyle this may be their last shot to win it all in San Jose and I think they find a way to get past an extremely tough Kings club. San Jose in 7

I don't know. But it was the same guy who told me Ghost was signed before it was posted on here. So, much like government approvals, if something works once, it always works.

The #Flyers said Mason was expected to practice this morning. Whether it’s a setback or he’s having more tests done, we shall see. |

Agreed, the Flyers would have no problem finding someone to take Grossmann, a cap hit of 3.5 million going forward is not unreasonable at all for a player like him. |
