And it would be good if he just holds his own -- he sees the ice well, even at the NHL pace.

The question, as always, will be what he does in his own zone. But the guy isn't an idiot; he has to know that if he doesn't compete in his own zone, work hard on the backcheck and getting pucks out, his stay will be brief.

Guys who know that...they find ways to stay in lineups, from time to time. When you've been sent down to the ECHL...you have a level of hunger that maybe some guys don't have.

That kid hasn't had an easy ride to that slot. I don't think he's going to let it go because he doesn't backcheck. He might get overpowered physically, but I think he knows what he has to do to stay in the lineup. We'll see if he can do those things.

Win or lose make the blue shirts hurt!
