I could handle the Flyers looking for the stretch pass early.
I didn't say run and gun it Lavy style, but just design 2 or 3 stretches in the first 7 minutes or so. If it doesn't work, make sure it misses so it gets tipped in deep and go forecheck.
Getting the Rangers to open up the neutral zone by respecting the stretch even A LITTLE BIT so the Flyers can get up the ice with speed would be clutch - Giroux_Is_God
I'm okay with open stretch passes when available. Its the cross ice passes through sticks that I'm concerned about.

I just dont want us to pass up open shots because its "The King" just fire every chance you get unless you clearly have a better play. |

I have no issues with Akeson playing, but I don't understand why he only saw one NHL game this year if he was going to dress in the playoffs. The Flyers obviously knew Downie wasn't a viable option a while ago. |

Hey, Coots hit Toews while he wasn't looking and "vulnerable"!!! I hear that's frowned upon. Mike Milbury will be calling at any moment. |

You'd like to think they did. I think they kept hoping and hoping he'd be "that" Steve Downie, the hard working one who wins puck battles and is solid defensively. When they put Akeson on that line in the last game, he didn't look too out of place, much to my amazement. I don't think they intended for Akeson to do anything more than to play in the finale. At this point, if it's between Downie/Akeson/McGinn, I'm just fine with Akeson. Let's see how that looks after Game 1. |

It's like a secret weapon, the rags won't know what hit them when Jason "Art Ross" Akeson hangs Lundqvist and McDonough out to dry. The flyers didn't want to show their hand too early. |

seemed like they were hoping downie could/would return, he came back for that one game and played like he still had brain damage unfortunately
i know a lot of you all can't stand him but i'd love for him to be back on that line for the POs |

I tried to give him every break I could, but unless (until) a forward goes down with an injury, or they need to shake things up, I'm fine with him not being in the lineup. |
