It's not a matter of heart: it's a matter of leadership now - someone has to put this team on his back and bring them out of it.

Toews is an excellent captain when things go well: he doesn't seem to be as much of a leader in the bad times - like 3 games against Detroit, like against Phoenix.

He was also extremely defiant when Chi fell behind the Nucktards 3-0 in '11 and the rally was launched.

And his return in Game 5 after getting crushed vs Boston was a huge boost on the bench.
