Um...has any GM ever done that?? - UnnamedSource
Question the refs? All the time. Trying to swing a series plant a seed of doubt and get a few calls. Magically it works. |

Alright I know the loss was hard to swallow and maybe I'm reaching here but I feel that it isn't over. Twice now we HAD the lead as in we are actually winning for some of the game. It isn't like we are just being outscored and outgunned more of the opposite. The team came out today lazy right off the bat. But I will tell you this, When the hawks have their backs against the wall more often than not I wouldn't want to be the team on the other side. We were down 3-1 to Detroit and they are a hell of a lot better in the playoffs than this Blues team. Home ice is what the Hawks need..They need the crowd having their back..And if they can win both at home...Take that momentum and shove it right up the Blows arse on their home ice...Well boys we got ourselves a great chance. Don't back down now and say they are out..This is a great team even if they are losing..The old saying goes it isn't over until the fat lady sings or Oduya breaks his stick over the post, Whichever comes first. |

Although I disagree Seabrook will miss at least 1 game.....Backes may be gone for awhile. - UnnamedSource
With Backes, without him - doesn't matter (well, it does to him).
If the Hawks continue to let the game be a Blues type of game, they will lose the series.
And I say that knowing they were cumulatively less than two minutes from being up 2-0. |

Since, you are printing this thread out. I just wanted to add this historic note. The Blues would not exist if it wasn't for the Wirtz family and the Blackhawks. You see the Wirtz family owned this derelict building known as the St. Louis Arena and they wanted to get rid of it. So they pushed for St. Louis to get a hockey team despite Baltimore being the frontrunner. - faustus1500
I'm familiar. He had the land / building that he wanted the team to play in. |

Well, let's see.
Now is the time for Q to make on ice adjustments so that they play Chicago hockey, not St. Louis hockey.
Now is the time for Toews to be the leader everyone says he is.
Time for all of these all-star scorers to do what is necessary - score.
Time for everyone to stop making stupid plays - 9 penalties today, most of them unnecessary and dumb.
Let's see how much championship character this team had. - StLBravesFan
The bigs guns need to step up, no goals from Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Shaw and Versteeg. If that trend continues we lose in 4, no doubt about it. We need to play our skilled speed game forget what the Blues want to do. Right now they're dictating the series and that needs to change.

No..this is hard for you...concentrate...you can do it...we are all pulling for you...
What would a 2C scoring 40 points a year. A point every other game....mean to the teams record?
Wondering, if say either Thursday or today, Zus managed to be on the ice for a positive 5 on 5 goal, if that might have made a difference in one of the games?
If you scatter 5 goals over 10 games, do you maybe win more? I am sure you will need to study further. Take your time.... lay out some jelly beans and count if it helps.... - TrueGrit
As Cosmo Kramer once said.."He's a tenacious little monkey"....
(Nice one D)
A ppg 2C??? How would that impact a team???? Do I really need to answer that?? ..and while were on that topic can you please remind me how many points the 2C for the Hawks had during both Stanley Cup winning season....(crickets)......
(tumbleweeds)
But hey...keep on keeping on....like you reference a ppg game 2c...you're ppp(post per page) poster when it comes to Zus. |

Trust me Stl....i feel the same outrage and 50 and co. Just trying to keep things in perspective. He lets in a lot of suspect goals. A LOT. - philco28
Very tired of throwing Crawford under the bus
Should have been 5-1 after 2
But for Crawford it would have been. Did you see how many bodies the tying goal went through with 6 seconds left
It was bull sh it luck. It has to hit someone. Destiny maybe.
We were lucky on three wD'man shots that. Bounced off a body and in.
Q wanted push back and a chippy game
He got just that
Seabrook pushed the envelope and got caught....Hawks killed 4 minutes and 54 seconds while two men down for almost a minute
PK did an amazing job
Losing two in OT sucks but back to the United Center and if we win two the pressure is all on the Blues in game 5
I think this will happen
St Louis is a big tough team
Bickel had a great game IMO
Enough of the negative yak yak

Yes - he's ours, and IF THE REST OF THE TEAM WAS PLAYING WELL, HE'D BE FINE.
But they aren't - and Crawford's mistakes were game killers - should have had each of them.
I give Crawford lots of credit all of the time, but when he doesn't make a save able save with 1:45 left - or 8 seconds left - I can't excuse it by saying, well, he made a great save on Ott. - StLBravesFan

Min 3 game suspension for seabrook. The recent ruff hit on oshie already had this stuff front and center. |

So Ott and Bolig get misconducts for holding each other. Versteeg gets a well deserved roughing call. Steen drops his gloves and goes after Seabrook and gets....nothing.
that's my point. that's why this NHL officiating is a god damn joke. Inconsistent. Call it the same the WHOLE way through. STL still would have gotten a 5 on 3, but not for the whole god damn remainder.
that is the joke and that's not being asked by anyone......THen again, Kuc is going for the pullitzer with his Teuvo mania and mullet mania pieces. Can't wait to see what that @sshat has left to break out. Maybe a 1 on 1 with Mcdonough on how great he is? |

Hitchcock will milk the system and say he's out for game 3...They're up 2-0. No rush to play him. Hawks win Monday, I'd be SHOCKED if that twat isn't back in the lineup Wednesday night.
He walked perfectly ok to the locker-room. He's fine. I did like toews giving him verbal jabs as he did his best Apollo Creed and stumbled.
Again, the point is where...was.....the....penalty....to.....steen?!!!!? - SteveRain
I doubt Backes was milking that hit.....he was motionless for about ten seconds...and then couldn't stand up straight... |

The Arena - yes - and what a dump that was.
Wirtz family had pieces of the Stadium, The Olympia (was that it?) in Detroit, and the Arena in St. Louis. |

I had a strangely positive attitude when the Hawks went down 3-1 to the Wings last year. Obviously, I was realistic enough to realize that it was a tough hole and that they might lose. But I absolutely believed that they were good enough to win 3 in a row, and thought it as likely as not that they would.
Not feeling that this time.
And I also believe virtually everyone on this site knows that this team is not of the same caliber as last year's squad. People have been saying all season that we have the "same core" etc., but the team chemistry has clearly not been the same. Not even close.
I hope I'm wrong. There's going to be another ice hockey game on Monday night, and I will watch & root for the Hawks to win that game. But I don't have any particular hopes or expectations at this point. |

Well....if you are trying to get 1 of your top guys NOT suspended....do whatever it takes.
God damnit. This is beyond frustrating. Just awful. I don't want to hear about how they can win this series. They aren't right now and baring a complete 180 its not happening.
Changes need to be made this offseason. Too many role guys thinking they are top 6 guys. |

There's no way he was milking anything. Backes didn't know how to spell his middle initial for at least 60 seconds after taking that shot...
