The Hogs won 7-2. The wife won Terry Broadhurst's jersey off of his back at the end of the game. It was fitting. Orland Park girl wins Orland Park native's jersey. - EKolb13
Congrats. How did TT look ? |

One bad hit doesn't justify another, but Reeves got him in the shoulder, not the head, IIRC. - StLBravesFan
Not looking at the hit or have seen a recent replay; also not justifying Seabs hit.
Toews looked to be in a vulnerable position as he was already being engaged by another player and while it's hard to decipher intent, Reaves hit looked like that was the desired outcome (injure Toews). Just my .02. |

Can someone explain the difference between Seabs hit today... and Reeves hit on Towes THR? How Seabs is bad, but Reeves wasn't.. - victorymc98
I agree with you, he came in after the puck was gone and got him partially on his injured shoulder (which is what he set out to do) and partially on his head. Then while Toewes is down the other Blues player hits him in the face with his elbow. Then they wonder why we try to retaliate ? |

Was Danault on Hartman's line again? Those 2 have looked good together the last few games. Did you see danault's great goal against the wolves yesterday? Great second effort |

There would probably be about 500 less hits on this blog had the clowns not called it a clean hit or justice for Backes. |

I'm a huge fan of hitting. I must yell hit him a thousand times a game. But it is mainly to knock someone off the puck to take it away. Or to wear down the d for later in the game. Certain teams overdo the hitting taking cheap shots and hitting to hurt. I hate the stuff after the whistle. The forearm shivers to the head. The pushing and hitting guys in the head going to the bench. Cheap stuff - tomcat24
I ca tell you I'm up out of my seat when the rare big hit from a Hawk comes as enthusiastically as when they score. I'm old school.
Nobody likes the Blues/Canucks crap after the whistle, but it's different than what a BackAss, Torres, Kronwall or Orpik does. What these guys try to do puts human beings in halos or wheelchairs. The face rubs scruff up skin and is like two peacocks dancing around each other.........Huge difference and that needs notated.
There are chippy players, players who play on the edge and filth like I mentioned above. Opposing players and their careers and families mean nothing to them. If the guy they ram head first into the boards ends up in a halo, so be it.

I totally agree with that. I'm sure most will say nobody really wants to injure or hurt people and I don't agree with it. Why else skate from across the ice to nail someone looking down and in no position to defend themselves. I really feel some people think of it as a badge of honor when they knock someone out. Some people are scum. I also hate guys that never fight but love lacting tough in a scrim with the refs right there. I would skate to center ice and say you want to go? Let's go |

After watching him play 70-90 games a year for the past 9 years I'm sure he wasn't headhunting. I'm sure that he was trying to hit him hard but legally but it ended up being a hit to the head and he probably will be suspended even though it will be his first that I remember.
I think that Hockey players are such amazing skaters that sometimes its easy to forget that they are playing on ice and sometimes they are committed to a hit and if someone loses the puck or turns a different way it's too late to pull up.
There are guys in this league who intentionally target Stars and smaller players but I guarantee Seebrook isn't one of them and if he could take back the hit and the resulting loss, I'm sure he would do it. - kissthecup22
This was pretty much exactly what I thought. Bad decision by a clean player. Stuff happens in a fast paced game and there has to be consequences but I doubt it will be a huge suspension though the Lucic 5k has me baffled and certain I have no clue how Quintal (now that Banahan is gone) will handle this.
Bickell's kneeing on the other hand seems a whole different story.
