This was pretty much exactly what I thought. Bad decision by a clean player. Stuff happens in a fast paced game and there has to be consequences but I doubt it will be a huge suspension though the Lucic 5k has me baffled and certain I have no clue how Quintal (now that Banahan is gone) will handle this.
Bickell's kneeing on the other hand seems a whole different story. - stljam
Exactly! I wasn't saying he's a " dirty" player... But it was a dirty hit no matter what way you look at it. Mistake or on purpose... |

Hilarious anecdote...
Just went to buy a 12 pack...liquor store owned and operated by Indian Americans, nice people...and I'm regular.
The guy working late is watching the Wild vs. Avs...I had no idea he was a hockey fan.
So I say to him..."ya like hockey?"
He says...F' the Hawks! F'n guys could kill that last 6 seconds! They're done...
I just cracked up...
Then he starts in on Seabs... |

I didn't like seeing bickell stick out his leg. Those are very dangerous. Those hits also seem to happen a lot though. More than they should. I dont remember a lot of them being suspended |

You're right, a 4th liner with 11 career goals going after our best players injured shoulder is much more admirable.
The announcer even talked about how much crap is going on behind the play. The league kills me, they let all the slashing, crosschecking and elbowing go on all game long and then when it boils over they act like they can't believe it happened. If they want to stop the retaliation, cleanup the constant crap throughout the game. |

Nice cheap shot.
Anyways, it seems like you have a level headed approach to this, FWIW. |

Read that Seabrook is at least getting a phone hearing, which means a cap of 4 games I think. |

I am surprised a Hawk fan actually knows any hockey history considering 99.9% of your fan base was established in 2010.
Good on you. - classic321
You are ignorant of the facts regarding the history of this board. So you just make yourself sound foolish. You have a chip on your shoulder about something, that is your problem and you are immature if you push that on us here on this board. You do not have anything positive to say so scram. You are wasting your own time. |

Game 1 hurt a lot, but today was devastating. To do such a great job killing all the penalties. Hammer once again sacrificing his life blocking shots and gutting it out. Only to give up the goal with 6 frickin seconds left. Very painful. This just isn't our year. |

One bad hit doesn't justify another, but Reeves got him in the shoulder, not the head, IIRC. - StLBravesFan
See I think Backes Head is flung into Seabs Shoulder...
Thanks for the clarification. When I saw it today.. It looked the same to me. |

Last I checked shoulder to shoulder checks were legal... No different than Bickell targeting Tarasenko's right arm/wrist on a hit rather than hitting in the shoulder in game 1. Someone said it before and it was too true, players don't show respect to each other, at least too often they don't.

Brent Seabrook will have a phone hearing with the NHL for his hit on David Backes in the third period of Game 2 of the first-round series.
No time has been set for the hearing just yet. The Blackhawks defenseman nailed Backes, who did not have the puck and was in a vulnerable position, with a hit to the head late in the third period of Saturday's game. Seabrook was given five minutes for charging and game misconduct, while a dazed Backes left the game and did not return. The Blues would tie it up with 6.4 seconds left in the regulation and win Game 2 in overtime.

5k for a premeditated act like that is a joke. The inconsistency of punishment in this league is a joke. |
