As a fan of neither team (impartial), I have to say I lost a ton of respect for Keith after the last game.

It would be one thing if he was taunting a concussed Cooke or Kaleta or some other weasel, but Backes?

Also, those slashes he is throwing around are ridiculous. I rarely agree with the man, but Don Cherry is right when he says a guy who has had ONE nhl fight shouldn't be playing like that. It's too bad St. Louis doesn't have a guy that can feed him a few with his fists (not his stick, like a pansy).

Also, the reffing was atrocious in that game. Keith could have and should have been called 5 or 6 times for those slashes. I am all for letting more things go in the playoffs but that was insane.

Barrett Jackman does a lot of the same things to get under a guys skin but the difference is, Jackman will drop the gloves and man up.

I've lost all respect for Duncan Keith. He's a slightly more talented version of Sean Avery with his taunting of an injured player.

If it were Raffi Torres laying on the ice, I wouldn't condone that kind of cowardice.

Must win game for the Chicago Thugs tonight. I expect them to be a more focused and disciplined team.

Randall, do you have time to get something up as a preview for tonights game?

I have a feeling tonight is going to end up getting really ugly, especially later in the game if it becomes a 2 or 3 goal game where the game is pretty much in hand.

I just hope that nobody else gets hurt. Any word on Berglund and how close he is to returning? That could be a nice addition, especially if Backes can't go.

The taunting of an injured player IMO is over the line, regardless of who it is. That is what I have the biggest issue with. The trash talking is so prevelant in the game that I can at least see that side of it, but there should be a big red stop sign for stuff like than when a guy was just knocked out.

This was literally David Backes after he got up and was being held up by the trainer:

No place for taunting a guy in that state.

I'm more of the opposite opinion, I think Chicago is really going to work to get back to playing their style of game and there won't me a lot of the chippiness we've seen up to this point.

They certainly realize they've played into the Blues' style of game to this point to their demise.

And I don't see a game getting out of hand by 3 or more goals, unless Chicago comes out and jumps all over the Blues.

I hope that is the case, that it doesn't get out of hand. I want the Blues to just beat them, and save the "getting even" stuff for next year in the regular season. It is too important right now to be doing that kind of stuff. Win, and move on, and worry about the other stuff next year. They will still be there.

Better watch out fellow Blues fans Toews is practicing the big hits http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttigJnJV4XY

Getting called out by Cherry for being a cheap coward.

NHL discipline is crap. We knew it but geez.

I do not want to see someone get it like Moore but I would like to see Reaves go up to Keith and give it to him until he fights. The slashing from Keith is ridiculous. Before Backes got hit he nailed Oshie and then Backes with a firm two hander on the arm. That crap is dangerous.

I hope we can win tonight's game.

Step on their throat and keep'em down, not literally of course.

Then again they had them on the ropes last game. A third goal would have been a back breaker.

Here is hoping for a full recovery for Backes. Hawks dived into a grunge match on Saturday and got away from their game. Similarity between Orpik and Seabrook hit was that a hard hitting dman saw a chance to light up the opposing captain and did just that. Seabrook deflected off of Backes' shoulder into his head and with new head protection rules, deserved his suspension (was thinking 2 games, not 3 with no previous history). I do not think this was a premeditated hit, unfortunate it caused an injury, but here is hoping for a good game tonight with curbed goonery.
