Yep. One of Stewie's early blogs was on ref positioning, and it explained a lot. They're not taught correctly, and there's no anticipation of where the play is headed anymore.

he wasn't going to blow that. that was just the perfect resolution to what happened in game 1. the kind of thing you really hope would happen but usually doesn't.

i'd agree. Be nice to see some sustained 5-on-5 play. Let both teams get into a groove. Started to head in that direction later in the 3rd.
