When Mason practiced the other day, and left the ice. He was asked what the injury was. He would not say specifically, but he said that it is not a concussion.

That "C" word has a very bad history in this city, even if he has one, I would expect to hear otherwise.

Trying to think of what injuries could have symptoms like that and not be a concussion. Can't really come up with anything.

Al Morganti believes he is suffering from whiplash from his neck snapping back from the hit.

Was primarily going with upper body and the fact that as he practiced longer it got worse.

Should be able to tell within that first period whether adjustments have been made to incorporate a breakout or initiate a transition game.

Flyers need to take this game, and show they can handle the Rangers.

Agreed. Gotta get g away from the checking line. That's why I was going for home ice in this series because of line matching.

If that was the case you'd have given up as soon as you knew the Rangers would their 1st round opponent

I did. Once it was announced Mason was out.

Berube needs to better divide the ice time. The best players should play the most minutes, and not be so focused on line match-ups.

Double shift guys on that fourth line if need be. If they lose and the leaders in ice time are the complementary guys, that's partly on Berube. That's especially true on defense.

I haven't seen a flat out denial of a concussion from Mason, I've seen a lot of folks refusing to comment.

Holmgren said the Flyers will decide Tuesday morning if Mason can take part in that day's 10:30 a.m. practice in Voorhees. "It depends how he feels," said Holmgren, who would not comment when asked if a concussion could be ruled out.

The goalie wouldn't comment on whether he was concussed in this case either, but did say he suffered two concussions in his career prior to last Saturday's game.

Toward the end of Saturday's practice, Mason was noticeably laboring.

"Probably the last 10 minutes in practice, what was bothering me wasn't feeling very good," Mason said.

When asked what was bothering him, Mason said, "I can't say that."

We talked it over, as an organization and he’s not ready,” Berube said. “I thought Ray was fine. He looked sharp again today. Those third period power play goals, there’s no much you could do on them in my opinion. We’ve got to do a better job in front of him.”

Mason, who has suffered two previous concussions in his career, said he did not suffer a setback in practice on Saturday.

“I think it’s all part of the process,” Mason said. “I think we’re doing everything that we can to make sure we’re treating it the proper way. As much as it is frustrating, I think everybody understands it’s going to be a process.”

In regards to Mason if this is anything related to a head or whiplash injury Flyers should keep him out like they are doing.

No point threatening his future career for some fart in a windstorm chance at winning it all this year.
