They should start Cal Heeter - Jsaquella
I'd rather have Cal Ripken manning the net. |

Idk. I dont think they're crazy enough to pull the poop they did on Bryz with Emery. Im still waiting on Barkann to ask Emery to quote Blackula... and then blow up on the fans over it.. |

Today, (insert coach name) made the strange choice of starting (insert backup's name) instead of (insert starter's name). The switch signifies the team has, yet another, goalie controversy. (Insert coach name) tried to downplay the controversy by saying he had two starting caliber goaltenders and he wasn't concerned about how outsiders would view the move. |

Theres a reason they dont pull their normal poop with Emery:
But honestly Ray would not take their poop. Im glad he's not willing to. I think if the beat writers pulled the same stuff with Bryz some people would start to catch on. Anyways they had Fraude in the beginning of the season so they didnt need a story. |

Seems like most of their work. Also Servalli at work:
Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull
Mason healthy enough to start, but Berube says Emery deserves to be in there.
Sam Carchidi @BroadStBull
Berube: "Ray's coming off a big win...it was not a difficult decision."
He knows what his readership loves to hear. |

Well--he only has to ask three guys what they want to hear. And one's his editor. |

nobody would know that except him or someone who really knows obscure dialogue from a specific movie. i do this with him a lot. just drop posts that he'll get without addressing him directly. it amuses me. |

it poses an interesting situation, because let's assume he's average and they still win, berube kinda' has to go back to him for game 4. if he loses, and plays great, he probably makes the switch and can use the loss as his justification even while not blaming ray. |

Interesting to see how he handles his goalies, it will be. Easy decision, it is not. |

but if emery loses us a winnable game in a series where we HAVE to win at home i'll flip
lets face it based on past history we're lucky as hell to take 1 game away from the rangers in MSG. now we need to go for the jugular at home and take 2 so we get 1 more mulligan in the MSG |

i get that. i also understand the "ray has earned another game" POV. i would also suggest that if the rangers jump out early and/or ray looks bad in the process he will be quick to make the change...i don't think he'll wait until it's too late to put mason in there.
if the flyers play the right way, ray is capable of doing the job. i do have faith in him. |

Biggest worry with Ray is lateral movement. The rangers will be looking to make cross ice passes down low because they've buried nearly every one they've completed.
This is where the Flyers have to stop with the dumb penalties. Make the Rangers work for dirty goals. The Flyers will win that battle more times than not. |

Emery has largely outplayed Henrik Lundqvist thus far in the series, and is the biggest reason the Flyers even have a split and home ice advantage in the series. Starting an ice cold Steve Mason, who hasn't played in ten days and hasn't even completed a full practice coming off an injury, might be less of a sure bet than Emery at this point in time.
