pull emery now? wtf put mason in? not good enough to start but put him in there down 3... give him all the extra rest till Friday
- dillpx183

It's actually a really smart move to get Mason in there and get going some.

don't get if he was able to play why he didn't start
- hogweed

Berube played the "hot hand". Mason's ready.

I think it`s smart actually.. this way he doesn`t need to go in cold on Friday.
- Hextall271

(frank) that, he should have played his best players more in periods one and 2 and not the secondary players because it fits this 'shutdown mantra'. Down 2 going into the 3rd against NY is tough for anyone.

If they think goaltending is why they have been dominated for stretches in this series they are dumb. I've seen zero overall adjustments to the Rangers game.

Only the Flyers could take a playoff game and bore the living poop of their fans to the point where the arena is completely silent.

if he was healthy enough to be on the bench he should have made the start. what could have been worse than having to come in cold in a game? makes no sense not to start mason

I agree, it is the right move. If they're going to pull out this series, Mason has to be in net.

problem is they show fight when they are against a wall or down.. never seem to be able to take the bull by the horns and put themselves in a good position
- dillpx183

This has been a bullpoop effort from the opening whistle.

I don't think 5 min of garbage time with maybe 2 shots is going to do much of anything. watch a ranger go sliding into him or something stupid

I will defend the players here. They have shown heart all year long. Fought hard, but you aren't making a tractor into a viper.

Holmgren put them together. At this point though, imo Berube is at fault as well. Ice time management has been poor all series long, and he has done jack poop to try and augment that PP which is really predictable always going to G.

On home ice, he got female dog slapped today when he should have had the advantage.

- flyer_nutter

I have to disagree. I just think the Rangers match up well against the Flyers. The Flyers match up against the pens. I am sure the players have some latitude to call plays before the face off. I mean what are they all discussing before the puck us dropped?!

Yeah this really pisses me off. Need a goalie to make momentum saves. Emery is not that guy.
- FlyersSteve118

The funny thing is people will blame Emery and the Flyers have scored 1 goal in the first and third games.

If Mason makes two momentum saves oh great..they lose 2-1.

But hey..we got DV2 to shut people down.

They're only still there because they're hoping for a fight. It's the only reason to stay.

Of the 27 blocked shots how many have lead to Rangers injuries?

The Flyers match up well against Pittsburgh because they are able to get under their skin.

Flyers haven't tried to do that, play to their strength in any of these games against the Rangers consistently. Hartnell was saying in game 1 that they have to avoid the after the whistle stuff because it wastes energy. That's a BS strategy and negating what makes you successful as a team.

I was actually worried to throw mase in cold Friday.. This is a good idea to get him some work... definite adjustments need to be made, but I want to see mase play if he`s healthy..

Now that the game is over, can we now respond to the hit Giroux took? Or still don't want to give them a powerplay?

ok, clarkie.....piss poor, deflating goals let in at bad times is one of the reasons we're down 1-2; not the only reason, maybe not the main reason but to ignore it is just beyond sensible.
