and he was good tonight, but i don't know what coach was doing tonight. jake was the only one going on that line. hartnell was useless. less than useless. g faded in and out, but this was a poor game from him overall. - hammarby31
Berube seems to be falling in love with that 3rd line a little too much. |

They've been protecting Kimmo with lower minutes since acquiring MacDonald. The d core needs a puck carrier who has some skill. Obviously, he isn't on the roster right now. I hope and believe he is in the organization. - ravishingone
protecting kimmo isn't putting him out there for 19 minutes a night.
he's a third liner at this point, and a shaky one at that.

I give the Rags their props tonight. They played a nice game on away ice blocking something like 29 shots. The D has to find a way to get some of those shots through or it'll be a short series.
Flyers have to do a better job moving in the zone on the PP. They were a bit too stationary setting up deep inside the attack zone. They also need to get to the net once they figure how to get the puck on Henry for more secondary chances, in which there were very few tonight.
Hopefully Mason is fully recovered, or will be on Friday. He should give the team a lift. Though even he could've been much help tonight with the O&B only potting one.
Put this one behind us and prepare for game 4. |

Flyers have to get the PP going. It has been awful. They have to get pucks on net and not into Ranger players. |

Akeson sucked. Hardly noticed him - Just5
Well he is a rookie, a little unfair for that.
However... To have as many advantages as the Flyers have with being a good destination for FA and unlimited cash.
To not be able to ice an NHL worthy fourth line, or have simply "warm" bodies is not good enough. |

Please no more ex-Flyers. - opeth_pa
Im sorry that people percueve me to be another party pooper/troll now adays but seriously theres a reason this team is in a perpetual state of mediocrity and the biggest culprit is the good ol' boy club. Fire clarke we get homer, homer goes about business no dufferent than clarke, now we got hextall lined up... This is a joke especially when you have this much salary invested in your forward corps and have been unable to get a real number 1 30 something year old defenseman without fleecing your roster. Homer showed or at least i thought he showed me something when he moved richards and carter... But then he has a meatball thrown at him with the weber fiasco... Theres no player on this roster at that time or now who should have been off limits, then to remedy that, we go out and sign two has beens last offseason to big money deals... #pathetic |

clinic of getting some fortuitous bounces early and sitting back and collapsing in front of their own net for over 40 minutes and getting another couple of bounces with less than great goaltending.
they change nothing. all perimeter. no urgency. shoot into a pile of white all night long. horrendous effort. bad coaching. - hammarby31
I posted earlier that after the 3rd goal, they sat back in a defensive shell. Thats all they had to do.CSP isnt going to to give up some weak slop and the Rags werent worried about shots getying through. Rags adjusted now its up to the Flyers to tweek their approch so we dont hsve to hear: blocked, blocked, blocked.
only brightside I can put forth is this team has been resilient and usually plays better when their bscks are up against it. |

Considering, Lava would put him out there 24 minutes a game constantly matching up against the other team's first line, I would respectfully disagree. Many times coming down the stretch Coby and MacDonald were paired together 5 on 5.
He just can't carry that load anymore and Berube knows it. Father time is still undefeated. I'm pretty confident the blueline will be remodeled next year with probably two new guys.

Also in regards to Akeson, he was really solid in game 1 and 2.
Maybe it would have been a good idea to play the kid in the regular season, instead of Jean Claude Van Damme, Rosehill or McGinn.
Akeson was the last guy to get a shot and has been better than everyone previously. |

They are playing the best, then the 2nd line, then the 4th line, and then Jake... I hope G
Has a good reason why he he had decided not to play this series... He needs to go out and just hit. Forget about offense and just hit... |

I agree with you on vinny. Streit has been one of their better defensemen, i just hate his contract because you know it's going to bite them in the ass in 2 years.
personally, i think they go year to year with no long term plan. it's always trying to fix what went wrong last year, instead of developing a plan and sticking to it.
Personally, I think they absolutely need to address the defense next year, but by that I mean moving on from kimmo and getting rid of grossmann, since he is just luke schenn with less puck skills.
They also somehow need to get giroux a scoring winger. A pure scoring winger who will shoot when he gets the puck, and not think twice about it. |
