I went to the game tonight. Incredibly pissed I paid money to watch that in person. I thought the reffing was atrocious, but you really cant blame that because every chance the Flyers had to take control of the game they blew. Whats the general feeling towards the game? |

But are they on a better path right now to be in good shape 3-4 years from now? They have a bunch of decent forwards who are fairly young. They have a good goalie who is fairly young. The final key is whether some of these defensemen actually pan out. I think they're on a better path today to be successful in a few years than they were just a couple years ago - eayost
I really hope so. its hard seeing the same thing every year. |

With that said, I think Luke h as plzyed very well so far - KINGKENZO
Yea I'm not down on Luke. I would have preferred a different type of player when the deal was done, but Luke may fit into the 2016 mix of Dmen better than today's mix.
For all we know if we still had JVR we'd have come up with an equivalent name for him as Fraude Giroux |

It's not over by any stretch....the Flyers have yet to hit the the high gear...if they can the series is very winnable.
- landros 2
We're not guaranteed to hit a high gear. Remember waiting for that same gear against the Devils?
This has all the same aspects of that series. Win 1 game, get over confident and retreat to thinking you can win a game just because you should. |

The sucked monster Richard. They did nothing new. Brought the same game plan that has lost them game 1. |

The refs were atrocious, as was Emery.
The flyers imo played well. Emery let in 2 or 3 softies, while the flyers controlled play and hit two posts. Easily could've been 4-1 flyers imo |

As the pessimist here, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Rangers win the series 4-2.
We lose Friday, win the game in new York, and completely stab the fans in the (frank)ing face to lose the series in the most pathetic playoff game of all time.

Yeah.. we didn't figure it out. We aren't going to magically start playing a way that beats the rangers. It's been years of the same type of games. Flyers don't beat tight checking teams. They just don't. Rarely have.
Couldn't beat the trap in the prelock out era. Can't beat the collapsing team defense in the common era... can't beat the tight checking and aggressive forechecking teams..
But yes.. we're going to somehow figure it out with 3 days of practice. I wish we could. But this team doesn't have the (frank)ing balls to pull it off. |

I thought he played a solid, but unspectacular, game. I didn't notice any glaring turnovers by him. However I do remember two I'll timed pinches that led to odd men rushes by the rangers |

I did think it was eerily similar to game 1. It really is a disgrace. I just dont understand why they try the same things over and over again and think they will work. Its not rocket science. I need a meltzer blog to help me process my emotions on this team |

I agree. Both were god damn awful. I really dont think that the Flyers played that well. At best I think they played average with below average goaltending. Sometimes they just need to find a way to finish on CSP |

Actually, that would make a lot of sense. I mean I sat in 206,.so I was off to the left of center, but it looked from my angle that he was unscreened. Plus they called it, live that is, girardis goal. But being deflected would make a lot of sense. - fecondo
yeah, I watched the replay a couple of times ... and I couldn't tell for sure. I thought maybe it ticked off one of the Flyers in front, judging from Emery's reaction, but who knows?
oh well ... on to game 4. |

I didnt think he played awful. I think he didnt have the same snarl he usually has in the playoffs. It might be because he was penalized for manhandling Zucarello in game 2. Could have tempered him a bit. |

this could absolutely happen. they've poop the bed on home ice in elimination games so many times, often in spectacular fashion. the 8-0 and 7-1 losses to buffalo come to mind. |

I think I'd rather them be blown out than the alternative. You know... Close game, goes to OT... |

Maybe after all is said and done, they will really need a culture change. No more "we treat all of our players like gold even if they lose" crap. Not playing good enough to earn your contract? Scratched until you give a poop.
Don't resign Timonen.
Beg Hartnell to leave.
Trade Schenn.
Trade Grossman.
We all know we're going to read a story about how Snyder has spoken to the team and told them this is unacceptable. Problem is, after you yell at your kids for the same thing 100x, they don't really care anymore. You have to beat them. |

they need an infusion of skill on the wing and on the back end - how they do that, i don't know.
this team is a far cry from the 2010 squad. they just are. a lot of good pieces, but some big holes.
more than anything, i (frank)ing loathe how some players become absolutely useless and do virtually nothing that brought them success during the regular season. |

I think if you replaced Timonen with his 2010 self and added 2010 Pronger, this team would be alright. While the rest of the team can try and compensate for lack of skill on the back end, you're in a better place if they don't need to compensate because you have better players back there |

I live in NYC. Flyers have to win this series, or else I'll have to hear it from the frauds in this city.
