Why do you assume that the only place to change the game plan is on the ice? I would have expected rethinking and re-imagining how to proceed isn't something that requires you be wearing skates. And they don't play til Friday. They'll have a chance to skate tomorrow. And Berube would not have been my choice and would still not be my choice but then, I'd have changed coaches in the off season. - bodiva88
I agree with that, but win or lose, I think you have to now give Berube at least one more full season. I don't want to see them return to the revolving coaches era. |

So far nothing I've seen in this series has surprised me in the least.
They lose and look bad doing so. Knowing they must win the next game, they win it. Well, the pressure is kind of off now, so they lose. I can just about guarantee, knowing that they need a win here badly, they win game 4.
Do you see the pattern yet?
They are a good team, but until (and this comes from experience) they learn that they have to play all out all the time, they will never be a top team. This, as much as their on ice play, is what they miss from having guys like Pronger and Lappy. These guys understood, and showed every shift by example, what it takes to win consistently and win the big games at this level.
Win or lose, this team is not mature enough to win a Stanley Cup. Hopefully, the younger players learn from this and they are that much better next year. And, with that being said, I hope they don't panic and rip this team apart trying to land that elusive #1 dman.
Voracek, Giroux, Coburn, AMac, Simmonds, Read and Mason have many prime years left. Raffl and Luke Schenn are just coming into their prime years while B. Schenn and Couturier are just starting to scratch the surface.
In the pipeline, they have Laughton who will certainly be at least a 3rd line player. On D, the group of Morin, Ghost, Hagg and Alt should produce at least 1 or 2 top 4 guys and Stolarz gives them a legit quality prospect in goal.
STAY PATIENT! This team, after years of squandering picks, is finally moving in the right direction. Don't frank it up now!

Spot on! I've said it before, when this team loses, it's normally for the same reasons, and in the same way. I'm almost thinking that they need to add a veteran role player that is a leader, and leads by example on every shift, the way that Lappariere did when he was playing. |

It would be nice if they could replace Hall with that type of 4th line heart and soul guy in the offseason, but I'm not sure who is available. |

I will be straight pissed if they went through all the poop of last year and this year's development curve only to trade it all away.
I don't know what a guy like Brayden Schenn's gonna be, and everybody's available in every spot, at some point in time.
But it could be argued that Schenn's about ready to do the kind of stuff that Daymond Langkow did, and I swear I'll be pissed if we had to deal with the 10-game pointless droughts only so somebody else gets eight straight 50-plus point seasons |

I agree 100%, but you know as well as I do, if they go out in the 1st round and don't get off to a good start next year, anything can happen. |

Yup, I'd rather go after a guy like Stralman, or Niskanen, if the price isn't too ridiculous, and just stay the course. I'm willing to trade being an ok team for another couple of seasons, to then be a powerhouse by 16-17. |

Downie is a pending UFA with a lot of concussion issues. I'd be very surprised if he was a Flyer next year. |

They owe it to themselves to see this through -- it's easy to knee-jerk, and they might, but they really owe it to themselves to see this through
