Imho
They are playing too soft. How many shots does G have to take before a ranger gets crushed. Reid is one of the few that has consistently been hitting. Simmons needs to start playing playoff hockey. And they need to take the puck to the net. They are playing exactly like the rangers want them to

Ok, so not as much of a wiff as I thought, but definitely nothing that should make you spin in the air and fall to your death either. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0SlXund2rQ

If it's hard enough to cause you to lay on the ice facedown completely motionless for 30 seconds... you should have missed the rest of the game.

One thing I can't stop thinking about from the game:

How did Carcillo not get a 10 minute misconduct for his behavior after being called for that penalty on Read? It was a horrendous call on ahell of a play, I'd be upset too, but I'm sure we can all say that we've gotten tossed from men's league games for less talk directed at an official.

Just funny to me, thats all.

- FloHaake

I agree. Mo idea how that clown didnt get a 10.He went right after the ref and I think bumped into him slightly. Still the rangers are getting the benefit of most of the calls and non calls. The part i really don't like is how he feels the need to go to the press and call out the fans in a city where he played nor how he threw Leighton under the bus. He's a fringe player and needs to keep his mouth shut.

Call me crazy, but of all the calls that went against you guys I am shocked no one here has yet to mention the trip on Simmonds in the slot. That was the one that had me like "Oh man that is bad." Officiating was bad for both sides but I think that was the worst Flyer one.

yeah the officiating has been awful in this series. for both sides. its to the point now where i think they know it was bad, so now there are just so many makeups. which only make it worse

I cannot get over the lack of icetime given to Voracek in particular. There is no reason for it. Throw him out on the 2nd line every once in a while, hell throw him out with the 4th line....anything.

That was bad... and thats the problem with this series. Its been the inconsistency of the calls. What was a call at one point, is a non call later, and vice versa.

Game was all but over then. It was the 1st call against Simmonds - the first penalty of the game - that's inexcusable.

Let the teams f'n play!

You can see Read bending his knees and lowering his shoulder right before contact... maybe that was to protect himself, or it could have been a bit of a cheap shot. It could go either way.

For everyone busting in Giroux he had a big part in their first goal last night. He caused the neutral zone turnover and then flipped the puck off the boards in a perfect spot for Jake to get it. G next drove hard to the net and took McDonagh with him, opening up the slot for Streit.

Also for those ragging on Hartnell, he could have easily had two goals last night but was unlucky on the one that hit the post, on another he had a tip in the crease that was going in but Lundqvist was sliding and just got his pad on it last second to deflect it wide.

If he scored one or both no one would be complaining about the other stuff in his game. Unlucky breaks and bounces.

The rangers are rightly focusing on G, and are having success for the most part.
But his play created that opportunity for the first goal.

Yeah, I do think that the last replay shows Carcillo glance directly at Read before contact and he doesn't change course at all, basically skating into him.

IMO, both guys were up to some shady stuff here... Read probably was glad to hit Carcillo in the face, and Carcillo was happy to take the hit and do his best Eric Lindros impression.

The Flyers spent the most time shorthanded this year. The Sharks the least. The Flyers were playing shorthanded for 180 minutes more than the Sharks. What a waste of time

I would love to see this.
Jake has been their best skater and has the speed to turn the rangers defenseman around.

okay legitimate question. By the end of both of these first round matchups, the over under for collective goals by crosby, giroux, and malkin. ill toss out the first number at 4.5
