Thats a real problem if our Coach feels Simmonds is playing 3-4 minutes a night better than Voracek - Just5
No excusing Berube for his butchering of minutes. He is coaching 90s style. |

And Steve Downie was (frank)ing awesome in December. That matters about as much as a pisshole in a snowbank when he's playing like crap in April. - Jsaquella
But the bottom line to me, is that pretty much every forward is playing like crap for the most part. With a few exceptions and in certain spans of games. The Flyers forwards for the most part, as a whole have been dsapointing in this series. Starting with Giroux, Simmonds, who has been awful, Hartnell, Read, Schenn. All need to be much better. Not just Lecavalier. |

Again I disagree - it does matter because the regular season gets you to the play-offs.
As an example in the locker room alone he has value. Do I want him to play better - hell yes!
But I'm not going to declare him a horrendous player because he's not playing past my expectations in the play-offs. - FlyersGrace
If he was within a $20 cab ride of my expectations I wouldn't complain. Unfortunately, he hasn't even approached meeting my expectations. |

We could've put a traffic cone in the locker room and save a lot of cap space |

Schenn has done nothing over three games. Neither has Vinny. Only one is punished. Sounds familiar. - Flyersgod
It was Vinny's hard shot on the powerplay that created the Flyers second goal in game 2. |

I didn't forget that he was shooting over 35% over the first few weeks of the season.
He's an awful player at even-strength, imo. - bradleyc4
That's the ability of a player like Lecavalier as a goal scorer. He has the ability to get hot, and can do that in the playoffs. He's not an awful player at ES. He needs to play in the right spot and with the right players. Like it is with most players. He's an offensive player, who is capable of scoring from anywhere at anytime. That's his value. |

He just seems to get brain damaged in the playoffs, I guess he just can't take the pressure any more. - BiggE
He may have made it back into the crease in time on the tying goal if he hadn't tried to block the pass out front.
The fact that he couldn't shake it off in OT is the worrisome part.

Akeson, Couturier, Luke Schenn - Jsaquella
Akeson has started well but is tailing off. Voracek has been very good. The good players have been
voracek, couturier, streit, L Schenn. |

This is only half of the formula. Who is the replacement? - MJL
You might have to drop Laughton in there on the fourth line and see what he does -- and yes, I realize what I'm saying.
I'm saying that at this point, at this time, you have to see if young legs with straight-line speed, if asked to play a simple game, is more effective than the clear advantage in experience that Vinny has.
Because to me, my opinion, is the Flyers have to make the Rags work harder, have less time and space, so they can start making more errors and leaving more gaps.
That's what I see: The Flyers are playing as hard as they can, with the roster composition they have. But the Rags are able to counter it without expending the amount of energy that is required.
We have got to make them work harder, pay more of a price -- not just physically, but mentally, with regard to the speed of decision-making -- that hopefully, an infusion of youth/speed would provide.
Yes, it's a gamble. But that's what I see, personally.

So if the Flyers do not resign Emery for next season, who do you think they will get to replace him? Bring up Heeter? Sign a veteran like Giguere or Clemmensen? |

He had a rough game 3, but he's more than meeting the expectations I had for a guy that played all year in the AHL.
Voracek has played well, too, but I expected more offense from him. |

In my view the Flyers need more goal scoring from the forwards. And Lecavalier is one of the best suited to that on the team. It's a catch 22. A younger player might give you more puck pressure, but the Flyers had oodles of that in game 3. They carried the play possession wise. They lost |

I would go veteran backup, but the Flyers love saving money on backups. They may go cheap and allow Heeter the first opportunity. |
