Donald Trump wants US allies to ante up if they want to continue under the “cloak of American protection,” according to his first detailed comments on his foreign-policy platform.
“We’re not being reimbursed for the kind of tremendous service that we’re performing by protecting various countries,” the Republican front-runner was quoted as saying.
Trump said he would boycott oil from Saudi Arabia and other allies unless they provide troops or funds to fight ISIS.
“If Saudi Arabia was without the cloak of American protection . . . I don’t think it would be around,” he told The New York Times.
Trump is open to removing US forces from Japan and South Korea if they did not take on the cost of housing and feeding troops on American bases there, the report said.
He argued that it is getting expensive to keep “defending the world.”
“We defend everybody. When in doubt, come to the United States. We’ll defend you. In some cases free of charge,” he said.

Yep. The Liberals fired the top commander, put a civilian in charge and literally changed the uniforms of all the troops in the desert to enhance themselves as targets for Taliban snipers. brilliant stuff. |

The Flyers say captain Claude Giroux, who left Saturday's game with what was thought to be a head injury, is expected to play Monday against the Jets. Philadelphia holds the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. |

How do you feel about the republican party sabotaging itself, to guarantee that a woman or a Jew will be the president of the US for the first time in that country's history?
I guess it's the closest they can come to social progress, so good for them.

I agree with you that the republican party is sabotaging itself, by not recognizing that the paradigm has shifted ................... and I would suggest that it can be traced back to the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision, which opened the campaign spending floodgates in the USA, and now that "Joe and Jill average" have gone through a few election cycles, in which the candidate with the deepest pockets backing them has come up the winner, and they're voicing their protest by backing one candidate in EACH party.
Back to the republican party, whose "rigging" of the primary process a few years back, where former "winner take all" states were changes to percentage distributed states, which greatly increased the party establishment favourite's (aka deepest pockets backed candidate) chances of wining the nomination early on in the primary process ....... theoretically preventing what is NOW happening with Trump, but they've shot themselves in the foot ............ and are now pulling out all the stops and are trying to put the toothpaste back into the tube.
As for whatever religion, gender, eye colour, height, weight, or skin colour the eventual winner of the general election is ............... well you're bringing that up, so I can only assume you have a problem with one of these attributes, because you're constantly inserting these elements into your posts.
As for myself, I could care less. |

I'm just pointing out how rare it is for the right-wing movement to try to help anyone who isn't a rich white christian male... I think their decision to gracelessly bow out of this election is a fantastic departure from the Conservative party you've expressed your love for. |

Again with the race and religion ............. it seems to dominate your perspective on life, as it's the obvious prism you view it through.
BTW, you seem to lack a bit in the Historical knowledge department. Have you ever heard of The Emancipation Proclamation? It was a presidential executive order issued by a Republican President, on January 1st, 1863 .......... I suggest you look it up.
I'm always surprised by people, like you with such entrenched stances on issues, when comparing "right" vs "left". Neither side is 100% correct on all issues. For example, it was YOUR Progressive Left that thought Eugenics and human perfectibility was completely compatible with the progressive ideology at the beginning of the the 20th century, as it related to science and the future of the human race. In the USA, the Rockefeller Foundation and the Carnegie Institution BOTH stalwarts of the Progressive Left even to this day, helped bankroll organizations that sought to advance Eugenics. You only have to google Madison Grant, a big time Progressive Leftist whose book “The Passing of The Great Race“ was extremely influential in encouraging scientific racism and the early American Progressive Eugenics movement ............ and that's just a starting point.
