Flyers P/60 this series:
Jake: 2.82
Art Ross: 2.63
Baby Schenn 2.14
.
.
.
G: 1.61
- Tomahawk
Giroux has basically been a non-factor the entire series. The two games the Flyers won their goaltenders have been # 1 star. Not sure they can continue to rely on that. I'm confident in Mason, but the team play around him has to improve exponentially. |

No such luck. Sorry you ended up sitting there alone, but you apparently managed to muddle through. - tangent_man
It's all good! There were other Flyers fans there to hang with!
Plus beer, food and playoff hockey is always a winning combo!

It's ok. Last I heard E was sharing a drink they call Loneliness, so at the very least- his night was better than drinking alone. - Giroux_Is_God

Night fishing -- that was/is awesome; Phil Kessel must be like "Oh, my gosh, I extended for eight years for this poop"

Any update on grossmann? I expect that if he can play he will try but I worry that he's limited in mobility as it is. May be best to go to gill regardless as scary as that sounds. |

I'm just going to defend Giroux again -- not the production, or lack thereof. This is just a tricky series for him, because again, the Rags don't have to respect Hartnell's speed, and a right-handed center kinda needs a LW to be a threat for the game to become a little more manageable when you're being watched like a hawk

Great work by Mason last night. He was outstanding and his puck handling was huge for the team.
Matt Read had a great game. He was all over the place last night and the Couturier line, as a whole, was our best line.
Flyers need to limit their turnovers. They should only attempt to skate the puck in when they have numbers. Force the Rangers to go behind their own net and get the puck. Pound McDonagh. |

I agree with all of that, especially the last part. McDonagh really looked like he was laboring in the 3rd. |

I hear you, but he's going to have to produce something in these last 3 games for the Flyers to win imo. It's hard to imagine them being able to win this series without at least one dominant performance from Giroux. |

You're right -- absolutely right. I don't know exactly how he does it, but you're right: I don't see how you win two games without him having a multipoint night in at least one of them

I know. They have the luxury of knowing where he's injured too. Take shots at that shoulder whenever you can. |

With a practice scheduled for this morning, I'm hoping this is the first step in getting Laughton in there for Rinaldo. I just don't trust Zac to toe the line and it is now a best of three series, a moment of stupidity will cost them the series.
I think there more inclined to let Laughton just skate with the Black Aces, but I hope I'm wrong. - ravishingone
Laughton in for vinny in my opinion

Giroux has not been a non factor. He's been a plus player while Playing tenacious in his own end. Has had some nice setups and of course face off wins |

I gave the flyers a 30% shot at winning this series. I don't see any reason to deviate from that. Who would have thought that a noon start would benefit the flyers? Apparently the king needs a full day of primping to be most effective. He is not good in early starts |

He looks completely shot. - PLindbergh31
He has not looked good and as soon as the puck leaves the Rangers zone I start to worry about Vinny coming back. I still think he is going to get a big goal for us in this series. |

The following is the Pens projected forward lineup for today's game.
Chris Kunitz - Sidney Crosby - Lee Stempniak
Jussi Jokinen - Evgeni Malkin - James Neal
Beau Bennett - Brandon Sutter - Jayson Megna
Tanner Glass - Joe Vitale - Craig Adams
Bad enough to have a mentally fragile sieve like MAF in the net, but you simply cannot win a Cup with Lee Stempniak playing on your 1st line and that bottom six.
For all the bad rap Hartnell sometimes gets around here, I'm pretty sure the Pens would rather have him than Stempniak on their top line. |

I would go with Gus just simply for his mobility. If he can't do the job than I would use the steady veteran Gil in game 6 |

I picked the Flyers in 6 and I'm staying with it.
I think Giroux finally has a breakout game Sunday as the shorter turnaround time really has an effect on McDonagh and I think Mason has another huge game at home in game 6 and the Flyers are off to meet the BlueJackets (hopefully, not because we can't beat the Pens, but because I don't want to see them win anything ever!!)

I disagree
The biggest hole created by the loss of Grossmann is on the PK and that is exactly where Gill will help the most. If you put Gus in the lineup for him and either Schenn, AMac, Timonen or Coburn take a penalty, you may be forced to use Streit or Gus on the PK and that is not a real good idea.
Heck, it's not like the loss of Grossmann is taking any mobility away from the D in the first place. Honestly, if it was anyone else that got hurt, I'd say go to Gus, but IMO Gill's job on this roster is basically that of Grossmann injury insurance. |

The Sutter line is a killer. Bennett was highly touted and Sutter was supposed to be a very good third liner. |

Yup, it's basically a 4th line masquerading as a 3rd
LOL, their 4th line should have never left the AHL! |
