I hope Coburn sleeps well tonight, because I do believe he's going to be a busy man tomorrow - AllInForFlyers
Yes sir. Seems like the only time Coburn isn't on the ice is when the Flyers are on the PP. |

I don't think theres much of a dropoff from Grossmann to Gill. Gill may be better because of the number of injuries Grossmann was dealing with. - PhillySportsGuy
Maybe Gill was clear the crease. That would be nice to finally start to see.

That's not what I'm saying. That's what you're saying I'm saying.
I'm saying he has to at least generate some offensive zone pressure or something. He's not getting chances. If you're not concerned about that, than I'm not sure what there is to talk about.
You think Giroux playing the way he has is fine. I don't. - Flyersgod
He's +3 with McDonagh on the ice in 4 games.
I think the team needs to improve on the PP. They looked a lot better in that department last night. They are pressuring Giroux very heavily on the PP. They need to work Voraceks side more often. That may not result in Giroux getting points, which I'm sure will bother you. |

Agreed -- I don't want to make Hal Gill sound like the next coming, but another thing the guy does is get the puck off his stick. He knows he can't skate with it, he knows he can get forechecked. So when he gets the puck on his stick, it's gone -- I do admire how quickly he processes what he needs to do with it.
He's a limited player, but I do think that if you know what your limitations are, you can still be effective. We'll have to see how the Rags attack him. You'd assume there will be a metric (frank)-ton of dump-ins to his side when he's on the ice |

I'd settle for Giroux playing one entire game well. I get that you don't care how bad he performs though. We get it. No matter what, you'll excuse Giroux's performance. |

At least he's fresh. I liked what I saw from him in the final games. It makes me feel better about having to play him.
Think of all those years we could have used depth defenseman like Gill and Gus |

I weep -- 2004 absolutely would've been different. Only needed one more freaking NHL defenseman who could play even 15 minutes. Just one |

Thats not what I'm saying. You think a guy sucks if he's not great. Giroux has a positive Corsi and Fenwick % despite facing the toughest competition and starting in the defensive zone more often. |

He looked pretty decent in those games. I would expect he might see a semi-regular shift the first two periods, and depending how he looks he might be glued to the bench in the third period if it's a close game. I would suspect he would play in the 9-11 minute range. |

Not to mention the fact that his play away from the puck has been pretty good. Better than normal, I find.
The Rangers are just all over him. It's frustrating and mesmerizing to watch. The Flyers need to exploit the fact that the Rags obviously cheat to his side, be it 5v5 or when the Flyers are set up on the powerplay. |

You would think the highest paid goalie in the league wouldn't need all of his shots blocked. - puckhead17
honestly, i'd be annoyed if i were him. bugs the poop out of me, most of the time, when one of my teammates blocks a shot. that's my job. get out of the way, thanks. |

I'd be angry with girouxs performance so far this series if he was half assing it.... But that's not the case IMO. Its too bad he doesn't have the points to show for the effort. |

To say G hasflat out sucked so far is just wrong.
It's like if he isn't dominating and getting 6 scoring chances and a point a game then he must suck.
Which is wrong.
He is doing some things well.
Faceoffs and at 5-5.
Two way defense and backchecking has been good.
Of course get could play better, everyone watching acknowledges that.
But to say he " flat out sucks" just views the world in black and white with no grey in between.

So your saying all that matters to me is stats... inferring that they aren't all that matters to you...
Then use stats to prove that Giroux hasn't played like crap?
Gotcha... was worried for a second that you're were going to be a hypocrite.

I can't believe you guys are really saying Giroux hasn't been playing poor.
It's mind boggling really. Whatever I guess. Guess i'll have to pick up a pair of these...

I'd rather him not guarantee anything. We were lucky to walk away with a win yesterday. |
