Claude Giroux has failed because...Hockeybuzz. - AllInForFlyers
So what are you saying, That it is Hartnell that is supposed to get Giroux going? What MJL said was dead on point.

I only see montreal having a chance against them. Odd I say it but montreal is a team full of nats. Bruins wont be able to catch themand will annoy the crap out of them that they lose focus. |

fyi i was joking. But im sure everyone in here bashing him for his lack of production just crapped their pants feeling the series was over. The rangers are taking him away from the series but really it falls on the coach to get him away from the not so favorable match ups. if im the rangers coach Im taking him out of the games and making the other lines beat us. Worked pretty well up to the point of mason coming back and having a steller game. - jmdodgeser4

You watch supernatural to? I am not even ashamed to say it. I have seen every episode. The show has been pretty bad since season 5 ended, but now I watch each week cause i have to see how it ends. |

No one should be ashamed!
Dude Supernatural and Sherlock are the only shows I watch.
Everyone poops on Supernatural since season 5, but honestly, I've thought they've done a good job with it. It does just kind of keep going though but it's not like the story line is really farfetched. Besides, I like the dynamic going with Sam and Dean. It's interesting. |

Yea, maybe it was just the Leviathan concept they started. That pissed me off for some reason. Yea Dean is just a great character. Makes it worth watching. |

All those fan-phrases like "he's the catalyst" and "he's the engine" -- it's just crap people tell themselves to hold a team's best players to some mystical standard when other guys around him aren't helping to get it done.
Is Russell Wilson a better quarterback than Peyton Manning?
Was Trent Dilfer the equal to Peyton Manning?
Did Sidney Crosby lose the puck behind the net and then give up a goal from the blue line in overtime?
Is Mike Richards a loser now? Drew Doughty? Jeff Carter? Anze Kopitar's a finalist for the Selke Trophy. Jonathan Quick's won a Conn Smythe. All of them have Stanley Cups. Why are these impact players, proven winners, getting destroyed by the San Jose Sharks? Did Darryl Sutter all of a sudden get stupid?

The first couple of season, the show was darker and creepy at times. I loved the random job episodes they would do at random warehouses and asylums and what not. That got me hooked. Then it started to get to plot oriented. |

This is absurd. Just like your defense of Giroux.

Wanting Claude Giroux, who is the team's best player, to play like he's the best player, is holding him to a mystical standard?
Not sure what the rest of those players have to do with Giroux. And I don't know who called Giroux a loser, but I sure didn't. But stating that Giroux has not played well offensively in this series, is not inaccurate. Nor is it unreasonable to state that the Flyers need Giroux to produce better offensively. And in doing so, would give the Flyers a much better chance of winning this series, and going further in the playoffs. Feel free to point out anything in my post here, that you feel is false, or inaccurate.

It's simple: In a team sport, there are guys who are better players. But at the end of the day, no one player supercedes what the team is able to accomplish.
Would the Denver Broncos have beaten the Seattle Seahawks if Russell Wilson was their quarterback and Peyton Manning played for the Seahawks?
No. They wouldn't have. Just because one guy is a great player doesn't mean that guy is going to be great against all competition, every time, no matter what his teammates do or don't do.
Just because Claude Giroux's a great player doesn't mean he doesn't need help. It doesn't make him some mystical "catalyst." What does that even mean? If Giroux got hit by a truck tomorrow, then Scott Hartnell can't score a goal anymore?
