Interesting article from Fraser.... - busher
I wouldn't pin the loss on the refs, because the team played like dog sh!t, but that was a horrendously officiated game, and an awful choice of crew. |

I thought 2 parts to the story was interesting..that Jackson was basically in playoff exile for 3 years under Gregson but was ok to return by Walkom and allowed to ref a divisional game 7 after being criticized for his work in game 2. I don't think Fraser has raised the issue of selection of refs before; maybe he has tho
Plus this comment " These decisions set a difficult standard for the referees to maintain as it appeared the game was being worked differently from end of the ice to the other"
Bruins lost cause they deserved to, but interesting still |

Absolutely, you could tell during the game on twitter even that he wasn't impressed.
Maybe he just hates Jackson, who knows. |

Milan Lucic isn't sorry for what he said in the handshake line, stating "I'm not sorry I did that...It's unfortunate especially what's said on the ice stays on the ice. That code was broken. I'm not the first the guy to do it....Not sorry." Lucic will also go for an MRI on his left wrist after hurting it in Game 7.
Forward Chris Kelly was injuried in the final week of the season on April 8 vs the Minnesota Wild and never returned to action since sustaining the injury, one the Bruins called "back spasms." It turns out Kelly was suffering from a herniated disk, which is why the injury kept him for the rest of the season. He will likely need surgery for the injury.
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara acknowledged that he indeed suffered an injury to his hand, but he told reporters that he does not need surgery. ESPN Boston's Joe McDonald mentioned that Chara was making an extra effort to keep his left hand in his pocket through the interview session.
Defenseman Dennis Seidenberg said that had the Bruins beaten the Canadiens, he would have been ready to play in the Eastern Conference Finals. Seidenberg also said that from day one of his injury, he knew he had a chance to make a return this season if the Bruins made it deep enough in the postseason.
Jarome Iginla stated that he would love to be back playing for the Bruins next year, as he believes the Bruins "will be a force a long time." Iginla said he still feels like he could play a few more years, but The Globe's Fluto Shinzawa surmizes the Bruins would only offer the 36-year-old winger a one-year-deal for next season.
Rookie forward Matt Fraser suffered a broken foot...with the Providence Bruins. Fraser blocked a shot in Game 1 of the P-Bruins' playoffs, then proceeded to play the rest of the postseason with the injury. He will need surgery in the off-season to repair the damage.
Enforcer Shawn Thornton said he wishes to be back next year, but he hasn't been told by the Bruins what their plans are regarding his status.
Forward David Krejci didn't mince words when asked to describe his play this postseason, saying "It's no secret I had zero goals in the playoffs. There are always ups and downs, but it was hard to keep your mind away from it."

habs have been doing it for 15 years
weisse coming out, and all the "no respect" talk is comical
you guys are acting like a bunch of 13 year old girls begging for attention
the team should be happy that they won the series, weisse shouldn't have whined, and move on to the next step
as stupid as lucic and marchand can be, winning and whining is very vancouver like and isn't doing you any favors
the habs and their fans always like to bring up the history, the tradition..then act like you have won a (frank)ing playoff round or two before - Toad in Nj
So lucic throws a temper tantrum and acts like a baby and you blame weise for calling him out on it? That is a freaking joke. |

Habs Fans mistreated at the TD Garden during Game 7
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another incident Bostonians won't be too proud of. It happened to two Habs fans who had the misfortune of attending Game 5 (May 10th) sporting Habs jerseys:
Quote:
I was at the game in Boston on May 10 with my girlfriend. We were wearing Montreal jerseys. We’re from New Brunswick and love our team, the Habs.
We are quiet people, we weren’t going there to cause trouble. We actually didn’t even stand up when the Habs scored.
But we got called ******* stupid Canadians, we were told to go back to Canada, I was called a French ****** all that happened while the play was going on. Then between periods, I had to use the washroom. That was my biggest mistake. I was called the same, was shoved and punched. I’m surprised I got out of there without fighting, but I managed to find my way out. After that point I understood I had to stay in my seat, so I did.
After the final whistle, while people were walking out of their rows we stayed at our seats to let the crowd out, so we wouldn’t have to deal with the fans. Then a fan just stood on top of my 98 pound, 4’11” girlfriend and spilled a full beer on top of her head while she was looking at him. Luckily, I didn’t see this — she only told me after we left —because there would have been a guy flying off the balcony.
Felt particularly bad for the letter writer, on account of this:
Quote:
My girlfriend was a very sick woman for a year and all she did was watch hockey, that was the one thing that helped her. I live paycheque to paycheque and was saving for this, and to be honest had to be the worst three hours of my life. I regret every moment and every penny I spent over the weekend.

Just to be clear, the Bruins had nothing to do with this and it's not the lot of all Bruin fans, just the few who took it upon themselves to act like cretins.
I wish the Habs would take note of what happened, locate this Habs fan and his girlfriend who got abused and do something for them to make this right.

You know I've heard the stories, I've been to a fair number of rinks, always in B's gear and never had any issue. That said they've mostly been Western teams and not "rivals", so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. |
