Nice job completely agree
My perfect NHL scenario is all team playing on an Olympic ice surface or something close so only skilled players make up teams - molly2522
If you watched the Olympics then you realize that would mean fewer goals, right? It would be more trapping like the NJ Devils that dominated for years.
Plus, the skill players idea you write about is correct, they would be a bigger factor, BUT the crappy teams would go bankrupt in record fashion as there would be a dozen teams that are relevant the rest would be pointless. |

I never understood why people thought that wider ice would mean more goals. The international game is so much slower and defensive minded because of the increased option for lateral movement. When you had 2 quality teams on the ice (think US-Canada) you had very little offence. |

I know what you mean. It's the casual fans that think that SPEEDSTER would dominate.
The reality with the bigger ice, especially as I saw it in the Olympics, is that it is the positioning that is HUGE!
You can have all the speed you want, but all you will be doing is chasing the puck around the ice.
To be honest, if they did go that route, the bruins would be even better defensively. So go for it! |

Not in the Chicago/St Louis series....St Louis is getting away with all kinds of old school clutch and grab poop. - Iggysbff
Less skilled team versus highly skilled and fast team. Interfere , clutch and grab, crosscheck all over the ice, it will continue unless the refs start calling it. Of course they won't because then we wouldn't have a series would we. I am biased of course but it has been the style of play versus Chicago over the past few years because that is the only chance the opponent has to win in a 7 game series. |

Congrats to the Sens on a fantastic season, like you said many times, an all star team that will shock the world. I am sure you're looking forward to the draft now, anxious to see who the Sens will pick in the 1st round. Oh yeah....Sens traded that pick - Symba007

Just like other major sports... Is the ref behind the plate starts to change the size of the the strike zone towards the last innings? no.
Elastic rules is what is wrong about hockey... |

Every sport has elastic rules
Even laws are elastic. That's why a judicial system exists. Sports don't have the luxury of subjecting infractions to a drawn out analysis. Everything is split second. But fans who have the luxury of seeing 9 replays frame by frame feel that they know better. |

That is sooo horrible but I was laughing. I'm a bad person but....
The snake looks at the camera man and is like, "seriously? Am I supposed to bite him? What kind of tricks are these?"
Then the baby attacks!
Is this how India deals with overpopulation? Every child after your first must battle a king cobra on there first birthday to determine there worth. |
