Nice.
Loser blogger censoring and banning posters who disagree with the party line? What is this, 1933 Germany?
- MartiniMan
If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe bloggers have the power to issue bans. I think they can recommend a ban on someone, but a moderator (referee or someone of that type) does the issuing of bans.
This might be a site glitch. |

I don't believe that I used the term "impact players." I do remember referring to Jaskin as someone who can score. |

Wiz I asked about the sauce because I said I didn't think Rattie was ready for the NHL for at least two years.
Elis responded by saying he disagreed with me and then said "Princess Rattie does have some upside, but there are some holes in his game he still needs to work out. Another season in the "A" for him would really help him."
That would seem like agreeing, not disagreeing which is why I asked about the sauce |

Perron was a cap casualty because he didn't fit Hitchcock's system plain and simple. Paajarvi was in the box because we signed Morrow. |

Hey I am able answer you.
Yeah, not trying promote disharmony....Rattie was never more of a line player in junior, if he clicked with linemates he was good. He really isn't a plug n play type and may be a bit farther. i was just looking at the Blues rebuild as using farm guys.
Jaskin was a big time junior scorer playing with Danault, and he is gonna be good in front once he adjusts but I think his lack of first step quickness will be something he will have to work hard to improve upon.

From the head will roll section:
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues won a franchise record 52 games this season and general manager Doug Armstrong can't help but sum it up as a disappointment.
"We're in the winning business and we're not winning at the appropriate time of the year," Armstrong said Tuesday. "We have to fix that."
"I felt last year that we were coming off of a year where no one expected us to be good the year before and we wanted to prove that we were a good team," Armstrong said. "I expected us to take it to a higher level this year and the higher level was going to be a consistent regular season followed by a longer playoff run. So, this year, there's a true sense that we have squandered an opportunity and opportunities don't come a lot in this league."
I know the guys making decisions have to make they press statements, but sometimes you as GM also include yourself in the blame.
As part of your resignings of your defense and acquistion of more high level defenders, you decided the Cap casualty was Perron. (He had three years remaining on his contract, with a cap hit of $3.8 million, granted a chunk.)
You got for Perron, a second rounder in this thin draft, and a guy who sat in the Press Box, Magnus Svensson Paajarvi.
Question: doncha think that Perron a 28 goals scorer this year just might have able to pot a few big ones in that close Hawk Blues series?
Just saying - you really have to judge EVERYONE's performance since last year including the GM.

Wow. I wonder what Blues blogger thinks about Hitch's comments about the Blues lacking a killer instinct.

Ryan Miller
On whether the criticism he faced after the series bothers him:
"You’re the goaltender, you’re going to take a lot of the focus of everything. Just the way everything worked out, the trade and the mood around this making a step forward ... it's pretty much inevitable unless we had won the Stanley Cup there was going to be a lot of criticism. I knew what to expect coming in and I’ll take my share of the blame. I could have played better, but it is what it is."
On his interest in re-signing with the Blues:
"I don’t close any avenues with anybody, especially in this kind of profession. I’m just trying to make my best impression wherever I’m at. I know it didn’t work out in this playoff series; I think it’s a good group here and it’s up to management to make decisions about my situation going forward. I really didn’t know a lot about the city coming in here. I had visited a few times when I was younger just to play hockey — you know you’re kind of in, then you’re out. I spent some time here and got to know a few people. I love the area and it’s nice. It’s funny how a different part of the world unfolds and opens up for you. Good people, very passionate ... and as (ticked) off as they probably are at me right now, it’s good. It shows they're sports fans and they’re committed to their team. They have passion, they have pride, it’s the kind of people you want to play for. If it works out that management wants me back, if it works out I’m back here, that’s the kind of people you want to play for. I hope they would appreciate the effort I try and bring and I hope they continue to support the Blues because they have a great group of guys here. I know that people wanted it to be better this year and we wanted it to be better ... this team is going to be better."

No doubt, he was under loads of pressure. A DEEP run was expected by many but to fizzle out in the first round... He's saying the right things, but I just have a feeling he's gone.

He is saying all the right things there but there now will be a market for him. Sharks choked - Niemi was definitely part of that. Miller's wife wants west coast - according to the rumor mill the last 3 years. If Anaheim gets bounced will the stick with prospects? Both teams could be making offers possibly.
Can't see how Todd McLellan can keep his job. The man cannot make adjustments.
