It's a good thing that he traded away Perron... The guy just can't score... - OilDerek
I'm actually a big fan of that trade. It alowed tarasenko and Schwartz to get more ice time and that puck hogging defensive liability is gone! |

I am not here trolling or gloating, just looking for your honest opinion:
Does Blues management now pay Miller his UFA pay scale, or is Jake Allen take the workload? I am asking because I know for a fact that Pittsburgh has interest and will pursue Miller if there isn’t a clear understanding of intent by both parties. |

When your leader's best quality is being a dirty POS thug...what is everyone else supposed to emulate exactly?
Dude's a loser. He will continue to lead the Blues to playoff loses as long as he's the Captain. He's also not a true #1 Center, and the offensively Challenged Blues will continue to struggle until they get one. - Ogilthorpe2
I am sorry, but yes, this!

It's condescending and superior in tone. Also, its in bad taste given the series just ended. Rub it in, why don't you. As for Ogilthorpe, no I don't "know" you. But your post speaks for itself. |

Backes is not a dirty player. He makes clean hits and has never ONCE been suspended. He doesn't go after players knees ( cough Bickell). He showed a lot of heart and leadership in this series. He was playing with sevear neck pain (thanks to your goon Seabrook) and a broken toe. He is not the problem. The lack of high end scoring is. That may change next year as Tarasenko will only get better. He is still only 21. Hopefully Rattie will help too.
Obviously, your hatred for him pretty much tells me he is doing his job. |

So how is his post ignorant? Are you questioning the fact that the trade deadline winners just never win the cup? |

I think they will try and bring him back. No way will they let the season ride on Allen. I think it will be Allen backing up Miller. |

Congrats to the Blues on being the Trade Deadline Champs. Good on you.
PS, some of us didn't need hindsight to see this was a bad trade.
- Ogilthorpe2
This is ignorant because the tone and attitude is condescending and superior. Guy from the other team comes in and talks down to the team's fans his team just beat like they are a bunch of of dumb female doges. |

Yeah, there were no Blues fans gloating in the Hawks thread after games 1 & 2
BTW, my original ignorant post, the one that supposedly "talks down to the team's fans his team just beat" was in response to another Hawks fan. You obviously feel the need to defend the Blues and their fans for some reason, but since you have no clue what you're actually talking about...either start paying attention, or get lost. |

i kept my mouth shut all year on this team on this website till today...
Hitchcock & staff should be fired immediately. i never like the hiring based on past performance in PHI & CBJ his coaching style wears on players. Dallas doesn't count where he got one CUP in the 20th century a different era of hockey.
Miller trade was one of the dumbest moves of all time should have rode Halak and if he failed then you get a new goalie in FA or for god's sake let Jake Allen have a chance that's why you drafted him. now we are out picks and players because of this. i'm not even sure why Armstrong should keep his job. (i miss Jarmo he did all the drafting anyways!!)
i give credit to Armstrong going for it because the Central is going to get even tougher next few seasons but man did the coaches and GM BLOW IT BIG TIME!!! and should all pay with there jobs!
if Armstrong (better yet put Jarmo in GM) left the team alone and stayed the course 3 years ago Bishop, Eller and probably Perron would still be here and team would be hell of lot better they been last 2 years in the playoffs and still have those #1's picks hindsight is 20/20 but it is hard to ignore.
Tom Stillman you have some hockey soul searching since you are the chairman!

First off, congrats to the Blues for a great season, and there is no shame in losing to the defending champions. Unfortunately, these were two of the best teams in the league this year, both having the misfortune to bump into each other in the first round, and one of them had to go home. It is true what they say, that in order to win, you must first learn how to lose. As a Hawks fan myself, I saw the Hawks go through this very thing, as guys like Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Bufyglien, Campbell, Keith, Seabrook and Hjalmarsson, just to name a few, had to go through the growing pains before becoming the team they are today.
Two key things doomed the Blues this year. The first was gambling on Miller, who is only arguably at this point in his career, a small step up from the Halak/Elliot combo. They needed goal scoring, and did not go out and get it. Vanek was had for a song by the Canadiens...why did the Blues not get him? The second, was the losing streak at the end of the year, that took them from a possible match-up with the Wild, to a match-up instead, with the Hawks...no disrespect to the Wild either.
The Blues have dealt away a lot of picks, but they still have room to grow with the young guys on their roster now (Tarasenko and Schwartz), and with guys like Rattie still to come. The future is not all that bleak for the Blues, but they must be careful with their next set of moves. A new GM for sure, and possibly replacing Hitchcock, whose shelf life is now up in St. Louis. They must get some game breaking talent up front (Vanek?), and/or need some more heart and soul (Callahan?). Steen and Backes are good players, but they have already hit their potential.
At the end of the day, the Blues will kick themselves for being up two games in two straight years, and not closing the deal, but when they look back at their season after taking some time off, they should be proud. - plyrs99
The hawks were not a top 2 team this regular season. They were barely above .500 the last 3.5 months of the season.
Blues burned alot of picks on Miller and Boumeister...high risk low reward gambles
Blues need another scorer/finisher.
Steen was never right after coming back from concussion.
Blues will never win with Backass with C. This guy just luvs to run around hit....undisciplined.
#91 is a keeper..the most dangerous blue on the ice.
And you can keep the biggest fool on ice..Steve Ott. Rarely makes a play. Always looking for the hit or take a run or post whistle hackery.

Too soon?! Only thing that would have pleased me more in this seasons playoffs would have been the Wild making it to the conference finals. This will do fine!
Congrats Antilles and Bluemanguru! Congrats! Your "great" and "superior" team once again sinks into the first round playoff abyss!

Has enough time passed NOW to rub their noses in yet another gut wrenching heart tearing lost of a series after being up 2-0 yet again?
And can we just mention the epic collapse of the Leaf regular season? Last year's game 7?
Can you please explain the time frame allowed so we don't appear ignorant. And BTW, that would be the correct usage of the word ignorant. You, I believe, were looking for the word rude. |

I really hope you are wrong about Miller unless he just plummeted his stock and therefore salary. He just isn't worth the money he is supposedly asking for in a new contract. At that point, I'd rather roll with the odd man out in Anaheim, Elliott, Thomas or even Brodeur as a tutor. |
