I swore that meant we were moving a center. We probably will still move a center this off season, but it still didn't make much sense.
Schenn i think was shopped all year long and teams just didn't want to give up much for him. I actually doubt there are many teams that interested in Schenn to start with.
The fact that they've not signed Schenn by this point of the season has me leaning towards a complication in the process. Does Schenn want more than what is being offered to him? I'd bet yes. I still think he is shown the door this off summer. - Flyersgod
They should release him. He's hurting the team. VL will be a star without Schenn holding him back |

It's like a series where nothing at all has happened. I don't know how else to describe it. No passion. - wilsonecho91

Yup I though Schenn was a goner as well. I actually got excited becuase I thought it made them more flexible to make a trade for young talented dman. |

It probably did. Until Vinny got hurt. I still would have traded Schenn, but i would have traded him already regardless.
He'd be great in Edmonton. |

Dude, you're so wrong. They've played really good. Read this.
"We're playing well," said captain Claude Giroux who scored his first goal of the series and was able to get off six shots. "We just have to keep playing. Game 6 is going to be huge and we're not looking at it like it's the last game of the season.
We've come back all season long when it matters and we have to stay confident about that."

I'm indifferent on Schenn. I like him when he's on his game, but he can disappear. I'm willing to give him anther year or so though, unless the right trade comes along of course. |

If they're winning i don't really care. If we're going out in the first round each year, i'd trade more than just Schenn.

You dare disagree with Giroux? How about Berube?
"It's a tight series -we all know that," Berube said. "But we're confident because we all know we can play better. It's not like we're getting outplayed. It's a tight series between two good teams. It's right there."
I no longer wonder why we're playing as bad as we are. |

My eyes tell me they are getting outplayed, by a wide margin. Yet somehow, it is still right there.
Every time a shot gets blocked a kitten gets burned alive. There are a lot of dead kittens showing up all over the place.

I don't hate the VL signing, but it made no sense when they did it. Makes no more sense now.
Regardless of whether they are good moves or bad moves, the fact of the matter still remains. We don't draft players outside of the Center position that actually make it to the NHL.
That should worry us. - Flyersgod
Giroux was listed as a right winger coming out of junior.
Just sayin'...

Didn't know that. I wonder if that's why NHL14 originally had Giroux as a RW. Because 6 years ago he was a RW'er. I mean.. it's not like EA Sports had the time to check the positions a player played the year before...
I'd like to see Crosby as a 3rd pairing Dman to start the season on NHL15. |

A lot of forwards are centers in Juniors or college because they're the primary playmakers. Teams draft them with knowledge that they'll be moved to wing in the pros.
Drouin centers Halifax top line, but he's going to be a winger in the pros. |

I pretty much felt the same way about BSchenn until this year. He showed me a little something that I didn't know he had - an ability to finish. Twenty goals (most in the tough areas around the net) is nothing to turn your nose up at. And the kid is still only 22.
That said, I still feel he's better suited as a winger than a center. I just feel his overall awareness in still lacking a bit. He's not a great passer, and not particularly good on faceoffs. But I'm beginning to appreciate his play along the boards and in front of the net which is why I give him another year before I look to move him. Again, that said, the right deal comes along and he's vaya con Dios.
But I'd be a little careful to make sure it's the right deal. I'd hate to add his name to the dreaded Patrick Sharpe list. |

NHL.com listed Giroux as a RW up until early this season. |
