If vanek wanted to stay with the islanders he would of signed already. - jaumiller
If he doesn't get offered the contract he is expecting from the team he wants to offer it... Then he has to look at secondary options and then it can come down to the best contract.. Which the Isles can offer.
I'm not saying it's gonna happen.. But it could.

Islanders #5 pick/Okposo to the panthers for #1 pick - harveykline
ROFL, why in the world would the Isles do this? Trade a guy who was on pace to finish in the top 10 in scoring, without JT since the break, to move up 4 spots in a draft where there is no true top pick?

Miller's going to Anaheim next year, and he'll most likely take a salary cut to play there for his wife. Also, good for Snow for showing a little faith in the club...personally, I thought the team just underachieved this year and can easily be back in playoff contention next year. Whoever they pick up this year at #5 will more than likely be better than who they'd have a shot at next year. - sudburyboy
Miller to ANA makes no sense for ANA. Anderson and Gibson will e ready soon... if not next year than the year after. MIller will want at least 3 years if not more. A much much better fit is Brodeur. He wants one more year on a contender and 30 starts. HE could be the ultimate mentor for anderson and gibson and would only need a 1 year deal. Its so perfect it practically writes itself |

KO was a legit 1st line winger this year. |

I think NYI should give up their first this year and hold on to 2015...you may risk sending a less than positive message to your team/fan base, but who cares? It's easy to get over hurt feelings, and unless Snow has a dynamite plan to fix the goaltending, could ANYONE risk having a repeat year and potentially losing out on a McDavid or Rychel? |

If they want to create a buzz for Brooklyn they're going to have to make some noise this offseason. I think either decision is going to get ripped so the best way to make next years pick a non issue is to fix the problems we had this season this summer. No isles fan is happy with giving up either but making the playoffs next year would calm people down. We'll see what happens. Not confident with our current owner, GM or coach. |

The islanders with league average goaltending would have finished with roughly 12 more wins, due to letting in I think it was 55 less goals. This was calculated in a LHH (Isles) blog. 12 wins factored in with OTL could be an average of 18 pt swing for them. They lead the league in 3rd period blown leads.
When the isles got rid of Amac, their goaltending improved by around .10%. If they literally bring in anyone over Nabby I think we will be ok. |

If the circus team of Wang/Snow had the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th pick they'd screw it up...history will repeat itself. |
