Overall team depth has been a problem. Berube must hold his breath when he puts the 2nd line on the ice.
The third line has been solid defensively, but they aren't producing any goals.
The 4th line has been good with Raffl on it, but they aren't going to give much offense.
People criticize G and the top line, but he's not getting much help. - PhillySportsGuy
The second line is where it needs to happen. And that includes ALL THREE members.

Replace smart with structured, and I think you'll be on to something here. - Tomahawk
Semantics. Smart and structured are really the same thing. And I was already onto something.

Exactly. - bmeltzer
That's why you ask the average fan and they have little confidence in this team right now. You can try and fluff the flyers performance with corsi stats and zone time, etc. they look horrible against the rangers and are playing with no confidence Bc of the effectiveness of the rangers |

The difference isn't goaltending. The rangers are taking it to the flyers 5 vs 5 for all but one or two periods of the series. - Just5
My point is we didnt receive the stellar goaltending needed in 2 of 3 Emery games to steal a win or even stay competetive. Regardless of how we were outplayed... the goalie has to keep you in it or you lose 90% of the time. |

Many of them don't back check well and they are a mess in their own zone.
Just because they got 20 goals, doesn't make them great hockey players. |

It goes back to 5-on-5 play. This team succeeds with PP goals. If the PP is not clicking, they're sunk. |

Were the kings down 3-0 in the series? |

dude. - hammarby31
So you need a team other than the Penguins, Rags, Bruins, Hawks, or Kings to win the Cup?
That leaves you with the Sharks, Flyers, Habs, Ducks, Avs, and Wild.
Good luck with that. |

Very true. I just cant seem to figure out why Berube got sucked into the Rangers game before the series even started!!!! We started playing Devils hockey. We arent built that way. |

Look at the 7 20 goal scorers.
Giroux
Voracek
Hartnell
Simmonds
Schenn
Vinny
Read
A large portion of their goals came on our powerplay, which feasted on a lot of teams this year. 5v5, not so impressive depth. |

I don't disagree with this, although the Rangers haven't produced a ton offensively in this series. The Flyers are down 3-2 because their 5v5 play has been wretched, and they aren't putting enough pressure on Lundqvist. |

This team is very inconsistent. But they are very capable of playing strong ES hockey. And they've shown that they're capable of it against top opponents all season. They've also shown that they at times don't play the way they're capable of. Which is where the inconsistency shows up.

I know, all these goal scorers... Even Simmonds scored more than half his goals on the PP. Even strength sucks!!! |

They could probably fix the issues in the series if they would snap out of this denial they're in. If I hear them say we played well one more time i'm going to punch someone.
They are playing like poop. Then they string together a couple good poops, followed by a giant turd. |
