90% of their turnovers/giveaways are pretty much unforced. all due to slow/horrible decision making and terrible puck handling

Struggle to play at such high tempo.

I have been critical of Berube lately but I like how he has them taking more chances and the line-up changes should have happened after game 3. Line 2 looks somewhat decent so far.

Its sloppy as hell, but I prefer this to sitting back and being hemmed in your own zone. They seem to be doing anything they can to get it out. Exposing themselves in the process, but its Holmgren to blame for that.

I'm praying for another PP... even a Rags PP... anything to get them away from 5v5...

anyone remember the move Pitkanen used to do all the time where he'd skate around the board behind the goal, and then either turn the puck over, or pass it out the zone?

I feel like half the team developed the same pattern, only they curl back around at the top of the circles instead of going deeper into the zone.

That's true.. but they also force the puck in areas that the Rangers are anticipating.

If they just lobbed the puck in the air... they couldn't keep it in the zone...

Far too reactionary and conservative.

Need someone to make a move to take the puck away, and the D to not back in so freely.

Otherwise solid period. First time they have tried to set the pace this series, even if its kind of ugly. The D is not suited to play this way and the forwards have been playing a much slower tempo all season.

Stay at it though, take it to them.

Raffl went right for Zuccarello on that hit. Already playing 100x better than Fartsmell

lucky to get out of that period 1-0, but i'll take it. need to seriously clean up the giveaways and stop overpassing and just get things to the rags slot and create a cluster (frank) there

Ya, they are statistically the worst 5v5 team in the playoffs, but we were just talking about their passing there. Can't expect them to never have turnovers. Set unrealistic expectations and reality will hit you harder. Just feel glad we have the lead.
