With all due respect to the rest of the team, without Giroux, we'd be talking lottery pick. Or complaining about Frick n Frack because Homer wouldn't have been able to trade them. - Tomahawk
I don't even want to think about it, TBH. Goals...would be hard to come by, I have a feeling.

So, basically, he's as valuable to us as Ryan Johanssen was to Columbus.
It's a very tricky definition.
Heck, I'd argue that the Flyers most valuable player was Mason, not Giroux. |

We also wouldn't have been able to sign Bryz, so........ |

I...think it'd be worse than that. While I think Johansen's load is ridiculous, especially at his age...the Blue Jackets could at least pretend, because of their defense's ability to generate offense, that they could move the puck and score a few goals, get a few from the point on the PP.
With our defense...well, that's not exactly an option.
I think, without Giroux...we'd have scored like Buffalo. Maybe worse.

Not sure if that's even arguable. I'd give it to Mason easily. |

I....don't know...if I...agree...with all...of that...stuff.
Without Giroux, we probably score at a Minnesota or Phoenix rate. |

We're all guilty of making hasty calls on guys.
I was wrong about Streit as a player in year-1 of the deal, and hopefully I'll continue to be wrong in years 2-4 as well, because for better or worse, they're going to be leaning on him pretty hard for awhile. - Tomahawk

After watching the game last night, I was very disappointed in the play of Couturier. His lack of effort created both goals last night. He had an opportunity to clear the zone on both plays and his lazy effort put them in trouble. I understand his value but to not have one single point in a seven game series playing over 18 mins a night and to come out with that effort in a game 7 was not good. I know some will say he did a good job because Nash did not score but really Nash had many scoring chances Mason was just better. I would not be adverse to trading him this off season if we could bring in a number one or two defenseman. I will say it again as well Hartnell has to go, what he brought to this series was embarrasing, constant turnovers and take away the hit he laid on Pouliot last night was virtually invisible.

Good idea, let's rush a kid with no pro experience and throw him into the NHL without any minor league time. Never mind the fact that he has holes that will get exploited at the NHL level.
Dude needs AT LEAST 1/2 year in the NHL.

Exactly. He's still fairly raw, to be honest. |

Kadri and Stepan both had 18G/25A/44P
Schenn had 20G/21A/41P
Not a big difference. And, since they were playing first line, I'd argue Schenn's numbers are more impressive since he was on the second line (less talented players to play with). - jmatchett383
44 points in Toronto is impressive |

Better be hearing back surgery for Lecavalier or else we are (frank)ed for the long run...yet again, with that contract.
Holmgren went 1 for 2 over the summer as I thought Streit was our most consistent Dman throughout the year. Thought he had a very very good series. - Just5
Correct me if im wrong but we're (frank)ed either way with him. |

When you look at the facts, you'll see that I'm right. CORSI is an indicator, but it really not useful, and it's wrong to think otherwise. I judge based on production and the eye test, and that's right, and that's all that matters. Clearly, you are wrong. |
