When you look at the facts, you'll see that I'm right. CORSI is an indicator, but it really not useful, and it's wrong to think otherwise. I judge based on production and the eye test, and that's right, and that's all that matters. Clearly, you are wrong. - jmatchett383

Corsi is just like +/-. It has to be used with other stats or it is useless. There are no tell all stats in hockey, because you operate as a 5man unit. |

Good idea, let's rush a kid with no pro experience and throw him into the NHL without any minor league time. Never mind the fact that he has holes that will get exploited at the NHL level.
Dude needs AT LEAST 1/2 year in the NHL.
Exactly. He's still fairly raw, to be honest. - jmatchett383
Not sure playing with the phantoms will help him at all.
They blow bad. |

Couturier had a bad series. That was obvious. To dismiss him as a failure at age 21? You are insane. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 99% of the people that read this blog saw it differently. Would it have been nice if he'd scored? Absolutely. He was FAR from being a problem for this team in this series.
If we're going to pick on someone, let's pick on Read. He disappeared 10 games from the end of the season and never came back. He's the last person I would think would pull a vanishing act, so I'm going to hope he's nursing an injury. |

I think he had a ozone% of like 20%. For every 1 offensive zone start he had 4 defensive zone starts.
Now factor in the amount of time he spent against the NYR top line, on the PK, which people seem to ignore, and the lack of PP time. |

He was definitely a step behind and did not play the best hockey of his life. But, I think he would have rebounded vs Pittsburgh if we could have taken game 7.

I am not saying he is a failure at all, What I am saying is that if those are his tendencies, and if a number 1 defenseman is available this year and we have to package him up it may be a good time to do it. |

It's going to be funny to see the look on Vinny's face when Peyton tries to bend him over to go 'under center'. He's going to be begging Chief to put him back on the wing. |

Trading couturier or schenn now would be selling ridiculously low on these two players.... |

Even if Couturier had an 8 point series and was great, I would still consider trading him in the right deal. You can't make too much of 1 series. The whole team was awful at 5v5. He played really tough minutes and held his own. He had no points, but his line did contribute some points. |
