the Flyers' first-year head coach left himself open to second-guessing. - bmeltzer
I like Berube a lot, and I'm impressed in a lot of ways with him ... but the distribution of ice time is not one of them.
Too many times this season (especially in the playoffs) we've been left wondering why some of our better players are getting tons of less ice time than they should be getting. |

I'll own up. Streit had a really good series and I hated the signing. I think he and Grossmann should be split up, they don't work that well together all the time and everyone knows I Grossmann. That said, Streit really did surprise me this series and if he can keep that momentum I'll be perfectly happy with this signing. - FlyersGrace

Better be hearing back surgery for Lecavalier or else we are (frank)ed for the long run...yet again, with that contract.
Holmgren went 1 for 2 over the summer as I thought Streit was our most consistent Dman throughout the year. Thought he had a very very good series. - Just5
I was very disappointed with VL, thought he would be better. My kid went out and bought his jersey when they signed him, now he is asking himself why he did that.
Streit was good and I would like to see him on PP top unit.
Schenn and AMac solid pair
Just praying for that #1 Dman now that we have a legit # 1 goalie |

cap hit is 4.5. Your right they can and Tomahawk broke it down the other day. I believe its something like 3.5 mil of dead money on the cap in 15-16 and 16-17 if they bought him out this summer.
They will probably have to do it. I mean if that guy wasnt injured, you have to do it - Just5
I posted in the other blog my thoughts on Vinny. My honest opinion is that he was still hurt. I think we are going to find that he plays really well to start the season and then begins to fade. As long as he's ok being moved down lines or occaisonally sat then I think he stays. He does have a really good one time shot and he has some speed when he chooses to use it.
Could you imagine buying him out right after the lightning did? He must either be cursed or blessed, hahaha... If we did and he went to another team he'd be bringing in 3 salaries |

They really do if that's the case. It killed me that they used the money they got from the Briere buyout to get him. It was a backwards move. Could of really used that little guy this series. Vinny was god awful. |

Better off trying to move him to a team desperate for help at center and offer to eat 30% of the contract. The other team then gets him for 4 years at a hit of 3.15 and the Flyers only have to carry 1.35 for 4 years. |

Pretty sure he has a NTC which means our trading partners would be limited. |

If Gomez can get moved for the return he netted, anything can happen. At this point I'd take a bag of turds.

So when can I say that I blame the series loss on the Penguins because of Mason's injury?

The Leafs may take him. He could battle Tyler Bozek for the top Centre!
Or
Maybe just him a shot to come in healthy next year to see what he can bring to the team |

I'm pretty sure that he wants off this rock if he is stuck playing on the fourth line. And paying a guy that can't crack the top 6 $4.5mil is just asinine. I highly doubt he will be here next year and if he is, the flyers will not be able to make a deep run in the playoffs next year either. |

Highly, highly unlikely. I wouldn't even do it from a Flyers standpoint. I'd want way more than under-achieving Bogosian... Throw in Kane or Little instead. |

Wonderful job as always Bill, you have done excellent work all season and we are all lucky to have you here!!
I see the Flyers having 2 major needs to fill this offseason:
1. Get a skilled, mobile dman to pair with Coburn on the top unit
2. Get a legit top line LW to play with G and Jake - BiggE

Hard to say if he wants off or not...
He did pick us to play for.
And don't forget he really was our best forward at the beginning of the season.
The Flyers aren't scared to bench someone making that much money (i.e. Mezsaros).
Don't get me wrong I won't be sad to see him go but at the same time I won't be upset if he stays either. |
