Second the kudo's to Iron Mike Keenan. The guy knows how to get the most from his players.......from the first minute of the game until the last. Only problem he has is that today's players hate that crap and management kisses their butts because they chose to pay them way too much. |

My thing is if Ghost is ready then he needs to play. You have to think that every year you want him to learn in the AHL guys like Giroux, Read, Coutorier, Schenn, Alt, Simmonds, Voracek get a year older. Windows only stay open for so long. |

And we won't really know any of this without a training camp, off season trades or signings, off season work outs, preseason games. That's why im not getting into who should play where. I don know how anyone can say with any degree of certainty what's best for guys that haven't even had a training camp yet. |

I'm willing to bet most of the people in here harping on VL were doing the same thing after Briere's first season here.
But after no time at all, most of us became infatuated with how "clutch" he was in the playoffs.
Not necessarily the same situation at all. But were talking about a former 100 point player who was bounced all around the line-up, dealt with injuries, was adjusting to new surroundings and, according to Berube, was "out of shape" to some degree (which could be entirely attributed to injuries).
Bottom line: the guy deserves another year to earn his bread. Not rocket science. - mochoson
I totally agree with you on this point we need to give him another opportunity to work out here but Hartnell has got to go as I have said many times before. He was awful in the playoffs this year and correct never skated a shift that I am aware of that he wasn't on his can at least once. His constant giveaways were frustrating. |

Can we get a better 4th line. i want one that dallas and anahiem have. They create all kinds of havoc and still have grit and can score. |

don't you get it? just because most other teams can bring young, top prospects up to the nhl and have them do well, when we do it they are ruined. i say ghost, morin, and haag will be ready in 5 years and by that time giroux and mason will no longer be in their prime and we can have a good D and no scoring or goaltending.....it just don't work out 'round here |

Yeah there are a few superstars obviously. But its about the generic player in the league. Not the 1 big superstar. - FlyersSteve118
I'm guessing there are no shortage of less heralded CHL talents, like Nic Petan, that could easily win the Hobey Baker has freshman as well.
Just look at the list of past HBA winners, and compare it to past OHL/WHL/QMJHL scoring champions. One is full of AHL All-Stars, and the other is just a bit more impressive. |

The NCAA is considered a tougher league than the canadian junior leagues... The difference between 21 year olds and 16 years is too huge to say differently. - FlyersSteve118
Is this a joke? There are a very select few who play as 16 year olds in Juniors. There is a small group of 17 year olds who play. It is mostly made up of 18-20 year olds and some overagers as well. Junior hockey is definitely ahead of the NCAA. Thats why so many kids go play there instead of the NCAA. |

i think if they have a different draw they make it through. your point seems to be that since they were eliminated their strategy was not any better |

Lol, probably, and that's after losing Rattie and Jones.
Not to mention that the CHL schedule has almost twice as many games as NCAA, and a much longer postseason... and they're basically expected to conduct themselves as pros as teens. |
