i dont think you guys will be looking at jussi.

and you know damn well what will happen with nisky. the good ole xfinity live fly faithful will hate him.

while he posts a stat line of like 16 goals, 45 assists and a plus 20

isnt it that leiler kid? leir? something like that?
- stayinthefnnet

Yup. He's our prospect. He doesn't have the upside of Pouliot, but I do like him as a good 3rd/4th liner in the future.

They'll only hate him when he goes 10 games without scoring. Only goals matter. Nothing else.

Would you be mad if the Flyers signed Jokinen and Niskanen this offseason?

AND HIT HIM! HIT HIM! CRUSH HIM! TAKE HIS HEAD OFF!

if anything, thats one of niskanens bigger downsides, is that he isnt overly physical. but hes not a total pushover. i like him just fine.

So i have a connection with the Flyers and I was asking him why I haven't seen Hextall really get a lot of play on news fronts for open GM jobs. He told me that there is a plan. I have a feeling we might get our wish with Holmgren moving to the side and letting Hextall take over. Homer would stay with Flyers but either in scouting or other title.

After Kimmo retires, the Flyers will be dangerously low on Finns in the organization.

He's been great for you guys. I'm really interested to see him against the Rangers.

Just an FYI. The Rangers top line played really well agains the Flyers. Nash had so many chances but never scored. His luck is bound to change if he continues to play this way, so look out for him.

Amazed he never scored -- Mason stoned him a few times. He probably should have had four or five, TBH

Having enough $ to add MSL at the deadline didn't hurt either.

I know there's some on here that believe that if you don't spend every last bleeding cent by September, that you're not trying hard enough.

But if the (frank)ing Rangers, under Glen (frank)ing Sather can be smart enough to not have to toe the salary-cap line all season long, why can't the Flyers?

I know. Rangers entire top line gave the Flyers fits. I have to give them credit for that.

I think one of the problems is the whole Pronger thing. They don't get the same luxuries by using Pronger's LTIR that other teams do by just being under the cap.

They have to live $5M under the cap in order to get those same things.

I think both of your points are true. That's pretty much why you can't afford to go out and throw $4.5M at Vinny (frank)ing Lecavalier, just because.

Yeah.

I find it amusing that the only time the Flyers had any cap space at the TDL over the last 7 years was the year they weren't in the playoff hunt.

Before MJL jumps on me for my use of hyperbole, I mean to say significant cap space where they would have been able to add a player making $5M

Yeah. Its frustrating because of all those years where the Flyers were the better 5v5 team but lost because of goaltending or special teams or bad luck. This was the series where they had all of the peripheral stuff, but weren't better at 5v5.

Maybe the reason they didn't make the playoffs was due to said cap space

That's exactly what happened; winning the Cup is always going to involve all the stars aligning. The Flyers...they've been unlucky, more than most

They're gearing up to give themselves some serious chances at this thing over the next five years, though. A few things have to break right, as always. But they're giving themselves a little cushion to make an error or two if they don't just piss away the youth this offseason in the wrong move
